For those of you who tried to follow the no rated R movies "suggestion", what rated R movie did you run out and get after you decided the society could shove their "suggestions"?

I was dying to see both Matrix movies, so they were the first I rented.

It's been awhile, but I think Schindler's list was the first I saw at a theater. Matrix was the first R movie I let my daugther watch, when she was about 14.

The first rental was "Angels & Insects" from Blockbuster, though a JW worked there.

    I've rented a bunch of R-rated movies since i was 15.

But the first R-rated movie i went to see in theatres was V-For vendetta. Then i saw Slither and last night i saw descent. Not scared of being caught anymore :-D.

I was at WalMart a few months after I'd decided the Watchtower could kiss my assembly, and I came upon a rack of $5 movies. Being cheap as all git out, I'm not one to walk past such a thing. I flipped thru and found an Al Pacino movie. Instinctively, I flipped it over, to check the rating. I saw it was "R", and in a practiced motion I returned it to the bin.

Then I realized what I'd done!

I promptly yanked it back out and bought it, mentally waving the bird toward Brooklyn. The movie wasn't very good, but I didn't care. :-)

I always watched movies that I liked and wanted to see, R-rated or not...

I still remember an elder who showed an R-rated movie to a group of JWs at his home...he assured them that he knew where all the bad parts were and would fast-forward through those (duh).

I loved V for Vendetta. I think it is a great anti-totalitarian movie, and an ex-JW would get a lot out of it. Very complex.

I hear the author was not so happy with the outcome, though. He's an anarchist, and his book goes further.

Past Midnight with Rutger Hauer - I rented it on the night I said I would not be going to the thursday night meeting and stayed home and watched that instead.
