We have another jwd member with Breast Cancer. StarMoore was diagnosed with breast cancer, about a month ago or so. Maybe a few weeks ago.
She had gone in to have her left breast checked out for some symptoms resulting from a biopsy that had been done about two years ago. From my understanding, aside from the problems resutling from that, nothing came of that biopsy.
Last week they did a radical mastectomy on her left breast and she will be undergoing treatment shortly.They found that the skin tissue of her breast is also cancerous and she will be going in July 6th to have more surgery and following will intensive radiation.
Doctorst tested 15 of her lymph nodes, 7 came back positive. A few around here are aware of what is up and she had said that while she was uncomfortable saying something herself, she was ok with it being brought up by another person. Today she gave me her blessing to tell you all.

She has grown to be someone I care about very much, I honestly consider her my sister in many ways. Out was the one who started our Detroit Meetup. It was at my first Detroit Meetup that I met Star and that was this last autumn/winter 05. Star and I email back and forth quite a bit, she is such a kind hearted person, completely non judgmental and all in all a really cool woman. She too is someone I consider a sister. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers! ***

Insurance companies are trying to make mastectomies an outpatient procedure. Let's give women the chance to recover properly in the hospital for 2 days after surgery.
