Simliar story Mysterious. When I came out of bethel there was a sister that thought we were a perfect match. We were far from perfect, but all she cared about were spiritual qualifications. I was going to be her prince and wisk her into missionary service. When she found out I got a belly button ring she was so angry, and barely spoke to me a word ever since. To her it was a symbol of Watchtower unspirituality, at least that part was right.

Below is a picture of my ring, it is as close as I could get to being a tattoo withour being permanent. I love the crystal ball one as well, when it catches the light it gets a blue glow.

Very neat looking jwfacts and especially unique, I don't know many men who choose to get their navel pierced.

Thanks Mysterious. I don't quite fit into the category of normal male. It took ages to find as most navel rings are extremely feminine, and I didn't really want a dangly pink flower or love heart.

But it would match your eyes! (or something equally fashionable) http://www.piercedfish.com/images/product/B300/NSCT032.jpg

I favor a gothic motif, Id probably do something like the bats or something else dark and rather unfeminine. http://www.piercedfish.com/images/product/A150/NSC4426.jpg but navel piercings have never been for me really. http://www.piercedfish.com/images/product/A150/NSC4437.jpg http://www.piercedfish.com/images/product/A150/NSQ-2959.jpg There are always plain barbells too I suppose. Funny that I always shied away from nostril and navel piercings as being too girly hehe nice of you to prove me wrong. (Ive ordered from pierced fish before, good site)

I love the last one, looks like black dragons. I have never seen that site, it looks worth looking through.

I had a friend who had three piercings in each ear, her navel pierced, and her tongue. I'm not as adventurous, with just two piercings in each ear. And I've been wearing the same earrings I picked up in Tijuana in 1998 continuously ever since...I just love 'em.

I got my ears pierced when I was 4, the second set when I was 16-17 (very frowned on in the hall but I was depressed and my mom wanted to cheer me up).
Got my right ear cartilage done when I left home at 18. It refused to heal and kept on getting infected so I had to take it out. Then it still refused to heal and I still have a build up on scar tissue in the area. Pouted about that for a while and then got my ears done for the third time.
I want to get my nose (left nostril) and navel done but just haven't got around to it yet.

I have three each ear, but use only the one. I tried a cartilage but it still hurt after 6 months so I gave up. I've had my navel for about 7 years... I think it took just a few months to heal; I didn't do much more than just keep it clean. No peroxide or alcohol.

I didn't do the navel to be rebellious, I just liked the way it looked. Still do.

Ouch you're better off without peroxide or alcohol both irriate the piercing and the new skin growing there. Piercers recommend you never use any of that stuff. Scar tissue is a problem with cartilage piercings especially those done with an ear gun (which were made to tag cattle not pierce human beings!)

I recommend the association of professional piercers aftercare directions. http://www.safepiercing.org/bodyAftercare.html

And check out the FAQ question on piercing guns. http://www.safepiercing.org/FAQ.html

yep, exactly. Peroxide bubbles the crap out of the edges of the piercing, irritating it further and hindering healing. Alcohol burns and dries it out. I didn't follow any guidelines, per se, just kept it clean and dry. A week of swimming in the ocean a couple months after piercing probably helped some, I'd guess. I wasn't given any aftercare instructions as I did the piercing myself. (oh it's not as psycho as it sounds; I work in a hospital where we have lots of 14g needles and ... EMLA cream. )
