(Sung to the tune of the Gilligan’s Island theme song…)

Just sit right back and you’ll hear a tale,

a tale of a fateful trip,

    that started when my grandmother

    found someone on her step.

He said some words that made her change--

they fell not on deaf ears.

    It impacted our family

    for more than sixty years,

    for more than sixty years

When learning that it was not true

and that she’d made some gaffes,

I did not know if I should cry

    or howl with crazy laughs,

    or howl with crazy laughs…

Well now that I’m the only one

    to figure all this out,

    I’m horrifiiiiiied.

    I’m friggin’ bluuuue.

    My familyyyy

    may soon shun meeee.

    Oh, Grandma Dear?

If you’d only kept your door shut tight, we'd have brains that work riiiiiight!

I like it...kind of like black comedy, but that's pretty much the JW experience once you find out it was all a sham.

Agreed. Especially now. My daughter and I moved 2300 miles away to fade, but now that I've shared my position on the WTS with my mother, she has called the elders of a congregation in my vicinity and asked them to "help save her granddaughter."

Oh, poop! Not that they should be able to do much, right? I mean, most of the time the elders (even the good 'uns) have trouble keeping up with the folks in their own congregations. How's your daughter feeling about the WTS these days?

One of the reasons she wanted to move out here to California was because she had met a group of JW kids who are here. She learned of my changed position on the WTS about 3 months before we left and was devastated. I did all I could to get her through it, reassuring her that whatever she decided, I would support her.

When we got here she hung out with these kids for awhile. After a few months she began to ask more questions of me. I'd say it was about five or six months ago when she came to the same conclusions I did about the organization. Relieved I was.
