What did she mean by that?

Hi, everyone. I'm new here...this is my first post. Last month I disassociated myself from the WTS. One of the student workers at the community college where I work is a seriously unquestioning JW; a sweet woman but totally brainwashed.

Knowing she would find out soon, I took her aside and told her of my decision. One of the comments she made, to which I just thought, "HUH?" was this: "But you have so many good qualities!"

Hehe...I wish I could have thought of something clever to say to her, but I've never been good at a quick comeback.

I wonder what that REALLY meant?

LOL...I could think of a few things she might have meant by saying that!

"Good Qualities" are "fruitage of the spirit".

"Fruitage of the spirit" is a "blessing from Jehovah".

    "Jehovah has an Organization."

"Jehovah's Witnesses" are a part of "Jehovahs's Organization".

    You left "Jehovah's Organization".

Persons who leave "Jehovah's Organization" are "apostate".

"Apostates" are a part of "Satan's Organization".

"Satan's Organization" cannot produce "fruitage of the spirit".

Without "fruitage of the spirit" a person cannot have "Good Qualities".

    Lather, rinse, repeat.

Nina (Can anybody tell me how to add in the little "TM" (trademark) symbol?)

    Welcome rhian, and congrats.

I guess it was a candid expression of her shock. The information that you left clashed with her assumption that "only bad, ill-motived people leave". Wait and see how she will manage the cognitive dissonance.

Hi, she just thought you were really strong in "the truth" as opposed to strong in The Truth About The Truth.

She thinks that ALL the people who leave do so out of being bad, stupid, bullheaded, etc.

She doesn't realize that it's the SMARTEST of the group that tend to leave.
