    WATERMELON VODKA SLUSH

    4 cups watermelon, seeds removed

    Simple syrup, to taste

    2 tablespoons lemon juice

    1 cup Vodka

    2 ounces melon liquor

    4 lemon twists, for garnish

    In a food processor, puree the watermelon flesh. Pour the pureed watermelon into empty ice cube trays and freeze for at least 4 hours. In a blender combine the frozen watermelon cubes, simple syrup to taste, lemon juice and vodka and blend until smooth. Pour into 4 frozen martini glasses and garnish with a lemon twist.

    MOJITO

    12 fresh spearmint leaves

    1/2 lime

    2 tablespoons simple syrup (equal amounts sugar and water heated until sugar dissolves, cooled) or 4 teaspoons sugar

    Ice

    1 1/2 ounces light rum (recommended: Bacardi)

    Club soda

    Lime wedge and mint sprig, for garnish

    In a tall glass, muddle or mash together the mint leaves and lime. Add the simple syrup or sugar and fill the glass with ice. Add the rum and top with club soda, stir well. Garnish with a lime wedge and a sprig of mint.

    BABYLON SPICE DRINK

    2 ounces fresh ginger, peeled and sliced

    1 1/2 ounces rum

    Ice cubes

    1/2-ounce coconut milk

    4 ounces mango juice

    1-ounce grated coconut

    1 maraschino cherry, for garnish

    1 slice orange, for garnish

    Soak the ginger in the rum for 24 hours. Place ice in a cocktail shaker. Add the ginger-rum mixture, coconut milk, and mango juice to the shaker. Shake well and strain into a large cocktail glass. Serve with a topping of the grated coconut, a cherry, and an orange slice on the lip of the glass. Serve immediately.

    RUM SWIZZLE

    4 ounces dark rum (recommended: Goslings Black Seal rum)

    4 ounces Barbados rum or amber rum

    2 ounces triple sec

    2 lemons, juiced

    5 ounces pineapple juice

    5 ounces orange juice

    2 ounces Bermuda falernum or simple sugar syrup

    4 dashes Angostura bitters

    Cracked ice

    Add all the ingredients to a pitcher with a tight-fitting lid. Shake vigorously until a frothing head appears. Strain into cocktail glasses and let the fun begin.

    BLUE HONKY TONK LEMONADE

    1/2-ounce vodka

    1/2-ounce triple sec

    1/2-ounce blue cuaraco

    1/2 lemon, juiced

    Splash lemon-lime soda

    Splash sweet and sour mix

    2 teaspoons sugar

    Mix all ingredients in a shaker and pour over ice. Garnish with cherry.

    SUNSET MARTINI

    1 3/4 ounces raspberry vodka (recommended: Stoli Razberi)

    2 ounces pineapple juice

    Dash Triple Sec

    Dash grenadine

    Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add all the ingredients and shake well. Strain the mixture into a martini glass and serve immediately.

    THE TRIFECTA COCKTAIL

    Lemon wedges, for rims

    Sugar, for rim

    2 ounces lemon vodka

    2 ounces orange vodka

    2 ounces raspberry vodka

    4 ounces lime juice (recommended: Rose's)

    Lemon twists, for garnishing

    Run the wedge of lemon around the top of 2 to 4 martini glasses. Have sugar in a shallow dish or plate. Dip the rim of each glass into the sugar. Chill glasses until ready to serve.

    Pour all liquid ingredients over ice into a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously. Strain into prepared glasses. Garnish with a lemon twist.

    OLD FASHIONED

    2 lumps sugar

    2 dashes Angostura bitters

    1 teaspoon water

    2 jiggers (3 ounces) rye whiskey

    2 twists lemon peel

    2 orange slices, garnish

    4 maraschino cherries, garnish

    Divide the sugar, bitters, and water among 2 old-fashioned (toddy) glasses, and stir to dissolve the sugar. Add the whiskey and stir. Squeeze 1 lemon peel into each glass and add about 1/4 cup of ice cubes. Garnish with orange slices and cherries.

    PARTY PUNCH

    1 cup sugar

    1/2 quart strong brewed green tea (hot)

    6 lemons, juiced and strained

    1 cup peach brandy

    2 cups rum

    1 quart rye whiskey

    1 quart chilled club soda

    Orange slices, for garnish

    Lime slices, for garnish

    Place the sugar in a large bowl and add the hot tea. Stir until the sugar has dissolved. Add the lemon juice, peach brandy, rum, and whiskey and mix well. Refrigerate until thoroughly chilled.

    Just before serving, place the mixture in a punch bowl and add the club soda to taste. Serve in punch cups.

    THE ORIGINAL SAZERAC

    Herbsaint (or anise flavored liqueur like Pernod)

    1 1/2 ounces rye whiskey

    1/2-ounce simple syrup

    4 dashes Paychauds bitters (or Angostura bitters)

    Pour a little herbsaint into a frozen rocks glass. Swirl around the inside of the glass and then pour out. In a cocktail shaker with ice, combine the remaining ingredients and shake well. Strain into the herbsaint lined glass.

    TUNA (CACTUS PEAR) MARGARITAS

    Lime wedge

    Coarse salt

    8 ounces white tequila

    4 ounces Cointreau

    4 ounces cactus pear juice

    2 ounces Roses lime juice

    2 cups ice cubes

    Rub lime wedge around the rim of cocktail glasses and dip the rim into a saucer of coarse salt. Place tequila, Cointreau, cactus pear and lime juice and ice cubes in a blender and blend until frothy. Divide among glasses.

    FROZEN POMEGRANATE MARGARITAS

    8 oz. Tequila

    4 oz. Orange liqueur (recommended: Cointreau)

    4 oz. Bottled pomegranate juice

    2 oz. Freshly squeezed lime juice

    Ice cubes

    Salt, optional

    Combine tequila, orange liqueur, pomegranate juice, lime juice, and ice, all to taste, in a blender and blend until smooth. Line rims of glasses with salt, if desired. Divide margaritas among glasses, and serve. To serve margaritas straight up, combine all ingredients, except salt, in a shaker. Strain into glasses and serve.

    LOL, Nathan! That "Full-throttle 'Rita" sounds like it can make a person warm, fuzzy & hyper all at the same time....heheh
