In recent times dating has become a common form of recreation in many places. Even youngsters in their early and mid teens commonly date. They may be seen around school holding hands, kissing, or even doing things beyond that. Witness parents do not believe that it is proper for their children who are still too young to get married to isolate themselves with a member of the opposite sex and engage in conduct generally associated with dating.
Kissing is ok so long as it doesnt lead to heavy petting. There are warnings from la madre that kissing can inflame the desires of one or both leading to uncleaness or porniea. Who'da thunk it?

Ya you and about prolly 80% of everyone else in the org, including myself. MMMMM petting mmmmm. I remember going to a meeting for bethel service at the DC once. They said "dont come to bethel if you have any secret sins like petting or premarital sex. Get those taken care of judicially first before coming to bethel" You never saw so many young men sweating bullets. We were all thinkin "ohh shit, they know about me" LOL

I saw courting/dating couples kissing in front of elders and holding hands - 3 of them later became elders. So again I suppose it depends a little on the body of elders but as Song of Solomon shows, some forms of endearment are appropriate. They were also careful to do it in front of people -- that is to say well chaperoned. Now this was kissing - NOT DEEP TONGUE KISSING - so again How far is too far in the eyes of the WTBTS
