I find this name of the game interesting coming as I do from Nairobi, Kenya where the Swahili language is widely spoken. "Jenga" is the Swahili language equivalent of the English word "Build"! Any connection?

New page up exposing the Watchtower, several new links like this go up everyday. Watchtower apologist you can run but you can't hide. Charles T. Russell Who2 Profile Updates 18 hours, 49 minutes ago

    CHARLES T. RUSSELLReligious Figure
Active in the Christian Congregationalist church in Pennsylvania, Charles T. Russell broke off and formed an independent congregation in 1880. Russell wrote and lectured on Biblical prophesy, preaching that the return of the invisible spirit of Jesus Christ happened in 1874. Russell believed that Jesus would rule for 1,000 years, and that all people (living and dead) would eventually be divinely judged. Russell began publishing his journal, The Watch Tower and Herald of Christ's Presence, in 1879, and in 1884 he formed The Watch Tower Bible And Tract Society. He travelled the world and relocated to Brooklyn, New York, earning followers across the globe. Russell did not claim divinity himself, nor did he declare any special revelations, but he did have a strict interpretation of the Bible and his leadership caused some to call him a messenger chosen by God. After his death his followers split, with some following Judge Joseph F. Rutherford, who coined the term "Jehovah's Witnesses" in the 1930s. Today the religion claims 6,000,000 members worldwide.

This is my first post, my wife is being courted by the jws and has a family background in the jws. She is to start a bible study using what does the bible really teach. Having not been exposed to other wt literature, I could not believe how simplistic the writing was, seems to be at a middle school level. Any thoughts on this new book would be appreciated.

Thanks, Simon, for a great search engine.

There are about a half dozen threads on JENGA, a name I couldn't recall at first.

    Best to you and Angharad!

Thanks for resurrecting this thread. I cannot help but wonder what happened to many of the posters on here.

I do see the comparison to the Jenga game, btw. Pull the wrong piece out, the tower collapses.

I realize people sometimes move on, but I wonder if some have passed on. I was specifically wondering about SUNSPOT, GREENDAWN, METATRON and MCSEMIKE (who I messaged back and forth a few times). I wish them the best, wherever they are.

dont really see the organization as collapsing - more like streamlining..

happening in all organisations that use print or media to generate income - look at the NY Times, Hollywood..

Thank you, LHG and jayjay, for replying.

    I appreciate the links, jayjay.

I wonder, too, LHG, about old friends. Some never respond to pms. Must have moved on.

Somehow, out of the blue, I recalled a pile of blocks, precariously mounted, on an old issue of RW's Free Minds Journal. I knew it had an unusual name. So I GOOGLEd "wooden block puzzle," backwards and forwards. It wasn't till I added "tumbling" that I finally got Jenga.

    Best Wishes.
