Can you celebrate your 100th birthday when you are a JW?

Yeah... I thought the "Requirements" book (and other places) said that true Christians "value life" and thus do not participate in sports (they value life so much that they don't accept blood transfusions, natch). So they can't play sports, but it's okay to sit and watch worldly people "de-value life"... and even throw a party for it?

Just a side question here, if anyone knows. Just when were birthdays banned? Proclaimers is pretty vague about it.

BTW it is reputed that in the UK one receives a telegram from the Queen on your 100th. I cannot swear that that is true. But if so, would you have to send it back?

Yes, this is true, everyone reaching 100 gets a telegram.

Might be considered treason to send it back though - still a capital offence AFAIK - so it might be safer to celebrate the birthday after all in this instance!!
