    Me: With all due respect, all I want to see is a Scripture saying "Don't celebrate your birthday, don't vote, don't celebrate Christmas, don't perform oral sex on your spouse."

    That "light" alone makes the fact that men actually remain JWs a complete mystery to me.

    Fairmind -

    Do you live in a closet? You're 59 yrs. old? Yeah. Just keep talking about sex. That's o.k.

    The latest "light" is that oral sex is a conscience matter, and that each individual Christian has to consider their own personal standing before Jehovah and that it's NOT the elders place to determine what is acceptable between marriage partners. Something to that effect.

    Unless the bulb has changed recently on that.

    Oral sex used to be a "homosexual act" but now it's up to each person's concious.

    Too bad the JW's fail to read all of the scripture about Pharaoh's birthday because they would find out that 2 good things did happen on his birthday:

    Gen 40:20-21 On the third day, which was Pharaoh’s birthday, he gave a feast for all his servants. He lifted up the heads of the chief cupbearer and the chief baker: he restored the chief cupbearer to his position as cupbearer, and he placed the cup in Pharaoh’s hand;

    I'm surprised there hasn't been some New Shite Light on the oral sex front. Those GB guys sure look like they'd benefit from some.

    When they start appointing 18-yr.-olds as GB members, you'll see this change.

    I don't know if you know but the somewhat liberal "conscience matter" view in the Family Life book was negated years ago. It is to this day regarded as 'porneia' but not grounds for divorce. Anyone caught doing it will loose priveledges and if they are suggesting it to others they can be df'd for idolatry some such stupidity.

    If and when he talks to you ( and he probably wont ) Ask him this:

    • Birthdays: People die in car accidents every day, does that mean I should stop driving? Angels celebrated the birth of Christ.
    • Oral sex: I dont see anywhere in the bible where it talks specifically about it.
    • Voting: Ask him to look up the Nov. 1, 1999 WT article " How do Jehovah's Witnesses view voting?" According to the article it is now a " Personal Decision".
