    Welcome Jaada,

Hope you do some research. The JW's have twisted some very plain teachings, whether on purpose or just being misled, they result in fear. Shazard said it well.

You have nothing to fear of the second coming, for it is the good news that all are waiting for. It will be a day when a tremendous leader and miracle worker is given the leadership role of this planet and he will change the world in ways that solve all earthly problems in the twinkling of an eye. I read the Watchtower and Awake every time I find one, and I am not even religious. I find the publications to be the best I have ever read. It is not the job of religions or politicians to resolve the conflicts on this planet, that simple task is left to the messiah. The JW's may be wrong about some things but then again so are all religions wrong about some things. Even the Catholic church has been abusing children and it has much to do with a stressful operating system. Its all about the basics; the Golden rule and not dividing Gods land. If a man asks for your shoes offer him your coat as well, means humans are obligated to distribute for free, the basic needs of human life. That is Communism, Socialism and competition for the use of luxuries in the most simplified and fair operating system possible. Adeqate housing, food, clothing and medical attention for free and equal opportiunity for education and jobs. Such a simple system reverses mans effect on global warming and ends all military and trade wars at the same time. The only thing you should fear is standing with the destroyers that currently reign supreme on this planet and the complicated and destructive systems they have introduced into the environment. Six million acres of wild fires in the US this year and its been about the same for the last several years, now we have a problem with mud slides as a result. And where is all our labor that is needed to put out fires, somewhere in the gambling, military, sales businesses along with the money changers, liars, cheaters and theives club that makes the rules. Levees that failed after notifying the world a year or more in advance that they would hold. Destructive wars and premptive strikes, Satan is having the time of his life rejoice, it is almost over. The Alpha and the Omega is soon to come.

Hello Jaada, and welcome! Like everyone else on this board all I can offer you is my opinion but I sincerely hope my opinion (in this case my own rule of thumb) can offer you a little peace of mind. Here's my rule of thumb: 1.The more scare tactics a religion uses to frighten you into believing as they do, the less likely that religion is going to be true. It's as simple as that. 2. Don't ever be afraid to reject what others tell you and follow your own instincts and ability to reason.

    Saboteur:

    Welcome to the board.

Does this now make everything the teacher told you about how the environment is ruined false? If so, how does her actions make it false, I.E., "I say smoking contains things that makes the air unclean" but then you see me smoking, so now smoking doesn't really damage the air. How is this deduced?

Interesting analogy. It doesn't quite work though. JWs aren't just telling people they must behave a certain way. They tell people they must be part of an organisation, and that the organisation is identifiable because its members behave a certain way. If that claim is false, then their self-identification as a pure unblemished organisation must be questioned, even if some of their doctrines are true.

    Welcome to the board.

Shaz says it all with this statement:

But for christians "End Days" are the best what can happen, coz then Jesus Christ will come and reclaim his flock and rise all dead and everybody who believes in Jesus will go to heaven. So actually "end days" are horrible for JW, but blessed for anyone believing in Christ as his Lord and God. Ones who put their hope on Christ will not be cut off as Christ has payed for your sins. He had your punishment you now have his life!
The 'JW hope' is the resurrection. They hope to receive a resurrection because they believe, along with many other groups like the loyal followers of H.W. Armstrong a person's existence ceases at death. They also preach that Watchtower apostates like me will never be resurrected. However, Jesus taught something entirely different than what the Jehovah's Witnesses teach. John 5:28-29 Do not be amazed at this, because a time is coming when all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come outthose who have done good things, to the resurrection of life, but those who have done wicked things, to the resurrection of judgment. The Christian's hope is the return of Jesus Christ. Do not be afraid of the Jehovah's Witness teachings. Most of them are false. The Jehovah's Witnesses have been individually and collectively prophesying Armageddon and setting dates for it for over 100 years. Each prophecy has been proved false when those dates came and went without Armageddon realised. God's Word tells us how to view prophets like the Jehovah's Witnesses: Deut 18:20-22 But the prophet who dares to speak in My name a message I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods—that prophet must die.’ You may say to yourself, ‘How can we recognize a message the Lord has not spoken?’ When a prophet speaks in the Lord ’s name, and the message does not come true or is not fulfilled, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him.

This isn't Earth - it's actually Mars - and Mars is actually Neptune - those who don't believe this will end up killed, no matter how 'good' it is that they appear - they must have this life saving knowledge - Yaboobah has revealed to us these things; that "you will know this through Uranus" - so if we ruin this environment, Does this now make everything the teacher told you about how the environment is ruined false?

No, that's not what makes it false.

I'm new here as well, and I, too have many questions for JWs.

Why do JWs claim to not celebrate Christmas or birthdays, but will accept gifts?

Why don't JWs celebrate Christmas and/or birthdays? Is there a reason?

Haven't there been a great deal of false prophecies by the WTS? Why don't these fasle prophecies seem to alarm or repel any of JWs? Do they not notice, or not care?

Hi jaada, welcome to the forum!

As we were with the JWs for 50 years, my wife was always terrified of Armageddon, and never thought she would go through (She had been sexually abused when she was only 8 by her JW brother in law), even though she is one of the most spiritual persons I know, but she had all of the guilt and trauma in her brain. She also has those kind of powers you were talking about, and when we left the JWs she had a few Mediums try to get her involved with their type of work. We were running a Complementary Medicine Clinic until around 18 months ago, so she was treating all sorts of people. We had started to get involved with the New Age type of thing, crystals etc. Then I started listening to tapes by Dr Wayne Dyer, and realised that the JWs had been a ROCK on our backs. My wife described it like 2 concrete blocks one on each shoulder.

What I realised from listening to Wayne and others, was that Jesus Christ was the most important person to ever live on this Earth, So after being out of the WT for around 2 years, we started to meet some Born Again Christians who showed us 'unconditional love' and that is when our life turned around.

We have been BA Christians for just over 3 years now, and we love being in love with Jesus. My wife no longer has ANY fear of END TIMES, which we still believe is near. But as Christians we now know that we are NOT saved by what we do, only by accepting Jesus as our saviour. She now has lots of prayer by our Christian Brothers & Sisters for all of the baggage she had as a JW, and we are also on the prayer team ourselves, and pray for others.

So as you can see we have been through similar situations, and wasted most of our lives in the WT, OR DID WE?

Maybe God will use our experiences to help others?
