The first time I went to the church that I now go to after 33 years a JW, all my life that was, I got up in the morning and suddenly thought how am I supposed to dress. So I phoned the vicar who was a bit surprised at the question. Then he said to me, "come however you want. If you want to wear your Sunday best you can, and there will be others dressed the same. But if you want to come in jeans and t-shirt you can, and there will be others dressed the same. After all God isn't interested in the bits of cloth that we wear, and you can't fool God by dressing up! So just come as you."
