The mother does look depressed and the son looks like he is dazed. Very strange to put that on the cover. Not sure of what the message that they were attempting to relay, but I think a mother with hope in the Promise made by Jesus and Jehovah would be a bit less solemn knowing that she and her family had the hope of everlasting life.
