And just think, only about 23,670 months ago Jesus first promised his followers "this generation will by no means pass away."&

That's what he said, but that's not what he meant.

Back in 1990, a brother speaking at a District Convention said that the end wasn't 10 years away...

I guess that he meant it was more than 10 years away

Don't forget the "year for a day" rule. If one month has 30 days, that means each month of this new prophesy represents 30 years of real time. By using the plural of the word "month" we must conclude that there are at least two "months of years", probably more. That means there will be at least 60 years for them to invent even more new light to cover their asses.

and all this time I was planning for my future! What a load of ka-ka. However, I too have a prophecy...all of us...are going to die! (Gemini will die twice.) And that's a 100% money-back guarantee. :)

    Damn, am I good. ;)

Ya, funny how it gets trotted out only when they want to plan YOUR future, not theirs.

MONTHS left does not prevent them from taking a mortgage for a new hall here, pending the sale of the old one. If there were months left, why bother with a new hall???

HYPOCRITES, SCAM ARTISTS, CONTROL FREAKS. These are my local elders. PISS OFF Steve.

In 1941 they said there were only months remaining before Armageddon.

    WT September 15, 1941, p.288

Cartons of Children that had been deposited in The Arena were now opened,.... Receiving the gift, the marching children clasped it to them, not a toy or plaything for idle pleasure, but the Lord's provided instrument for most effective work in the remaining months before Armageddon.

    *** w00 9/1 p. 28 Jehovah Always Rewards His Loyal Ones ***

As we arrived for the meeting one Sunday in 1938, two elderly sisters greeted us, and one said: "Young Brother, have you taken your stand for Jehovah yet? You know, Armageddon is just around the corner!"

w98 8/1 p. 21 ‘We Have Done What We Ought to Have Done’ ***

We had some savings that we thought would easily last us to Armageddon. (Revelation 16:14, 16) After all, we always thought that Armageddon was just around the corner. So when we started to pioneer, we gave up our home and dropped everything else.
