Where did you sit at the Kingdom Hall?

I always preferred the back of the hall. Here, I could go to sleep, read the latest Awake! and Watchtower, or just go to the restroom.

    Front

No one can disturb you at the front. You can listen "without distraction" or if you are really spiritual you can focus on the speaker the whole 50 minutes and absorb everything.

    Back

For slackers, microphone dudes, DJ's, parents and df'd ones. Plenty of distraction here, plus trips to the rest room are easier without those watchful (and sometimes disapproving) eyes. Sitting at the back affords the ability to sometimes nod off. (some can actually sleep with their eyes open). It's easier to pass notes too.

    Middle

Can't do much here, as there's those watching the back of you. I never liked the middle rows.

    End of the row

If you're at either end of the middle row of seats, you can see who has studied their watchtower and who hasn't.

Did you ever heed the counsel to sit somewhere else?

Wherever my seat found a seat. All of the above, and not habitually anywhere.

Found this little ditty, ha ha... Move Around (sung to the music of "Move Ahead", song 123)

This song was originally intended for children, but I think it teaches us all a good lesson--to widen out in our association at the Kingdom Hall.

    1.
Move around, move around at the Kingdom Hall
Find a row, say hello, to some one you met last fall
Take a seat, plant your feet, have yourself a ball.
And get to know your family.

How many times have you walked through the door
And staked a claim on the seat from before?
Change your seat. You will find that it's not a chore.
    Keep changing your locality.

    2.
Move around, move around, help the spirit flow,
Change your aisle, give your smile to someone you do not know.
You won't die, if you're shy, it will help you grow
    And add to our maturity.

Meet all the brothers and not just a few,
'Cause all the brothers would love meeting you!
It's our loss if the moss grows all over you
    So move around, move frequently.

    3.
Move around, move around, don't be grouchety.
Change your spot, please don't rot 'cause of immobility.
Move up close, get a dose of theocracy.
We know you'll like it if you try.

You'd give your life for a friend, I am sure.
And share your wealth to help brothers endure.
So let's start being loving to one and all
By changing seats in the Kingdom Hall.

I liked sitting in the back. In the hall in Belmont, Ca (which has been sold) they had a long padded bench and it was so nice to be able to sit there and spread out. Also the view from the back was great.

I have thought about this topic before. Thanks for posting it.

Where one sits indicates what his attitude is towards da troot.

    At the front Gung Ho.

    At the back, Yuk.

In the middle, Hug me mommy.

At the edge of the isle, Don't fence me in,

Along with where you sit, a few other things expose your attitude such as:

What time you get to and leave the meeting.

How much you talk to people before and after.

Body language, fidgeting etc. Looking at the clock.

Of course, not all of these are always right, but over the long haul, ones attitude becomes evident.

For God's sake don't reveal this info to the elders.

Always either in the restroom or second school.

I was never allowed to sit up front with my babies.

Thanks truthseeker for that little ditty. I'll be singin' that stupid song all day now!

I preferred to sit towards the back. I got too paranoid sitting near the front. Felt like 200 eyes were boring into the back of my head. I also fidget a lot so when I sat at the back, usually near the kids, my fidgeting would blend in.

    your welcome TallPenguin!

I prefer the back now, some talks are nauseating and require my attendance in the restroom. Particularly talks dealing with "higher education"
