This website is very misleading! It says its FOR Jehovahs Witnesses, FOR brothers and sisters!!!

    Actually what it says is:

    Guess that must mean

    Irish,

May I suggest some looser pants than the present polyester grape smugglers you seem to be wearing? If you don't like the site, don't visit it. Instead, bury your head in the sand at the kingdom hall like the rest of your ostrich family. If that's not fun, you could always volunteer to clean the poop rings left by the elders in the kingdom hall toilets.

At the end of the day, it's the posters that make this site, Simon hasn't forced the issue, he's just let the forum grow and develop its own way. It could very well have been another pro-witness site, but it has evolved into the way it is now simply because we are allowed to discuss doctrinal issues and debate and discuss freely without fear of bullying Elders being on our backs!

    Today's Tip: Breaking Spaghetti

To break spaghetti in half without a mess simply wrap it in a kitchen towel and break it on the edge of a table.

This website is very misleading! It says its FOR Jehovahs Witnesses, FOR brothers and sisters!!! And this site is no such thing!

Of course it is. It's FOR the brothers and sisters to come to so they can learn the truth about their organization. That can be a very positive thing. The fact that most of the posters are against the Watchtower Society is not the same thing as being against the brothers and sisters. Many of us here believe that the Watchtower in many ways actively works against the brothers and sisters, by enforcing its policies without regard to the harm that they do. Such callous disregard of the welfare of others is shockingly unchristian, and needs to be exposed.

Its an Ex-JW Site from the look of 99% of the posts! If you want to make a ex-JW site so you can all tell your experiences - FINE!

JW's and ex-JW's are equally welcome here. What this site is not, is a board where only one set of opinions is tolerated, such as at the Kingdom Hall, and at other boards which are JW-moderated. Anyone here is free to express his opinion about anything, whether others agree with it or not. And that is as it should be. It's called "Freedom of Speech." The Watchtower has fought numerous court cases for this right for itself, but it denys such freedom to its followers. If you don't believe me, try raising your hand during the next Watchtower study, and disagreeing with something the article says.

But those who sincerly believe the JWs are the truth shouldnt have to read that tripe when we come looking for encouragement and friendship .

First off, nobody is forced to come here. If you want "encouragement and friendship" in an atmosphere where nobody is allowed to disagree with the Watchtower, and where people who attempt to do so are booted out, there are sites that provide that service. Perhaps you would be more comfortable at one of them, posting within the same type of atmosphere which exists at the Kingdom Hall. So, no, nobody has to read that "tripe" (assuming that "tripe" is defined as "any information that disagrees with anything the Watchtower says").

I think the WTS should look into this

Very presumptuous of you. As if the Watchtower had any authority over what this board does. Here's a clue for you: the Watchtower has no authority at all over anybody on the face of the earth, except for those followers it manages to deceive into accepting its self-proclaimed authority.

and the site should think about changing its domain name and its sales pitch to get people to sign up!

Why? We are not hiding anything. It is the Watchtower that demands its followers wear blinders while on the internet so as not to see anything that might expose the Watchtower. If you choose to submit to that demand, it is your responsibility to make sure that sites you go to are acceptable to the masters of your faith, and not the responsibility of others to stop you from seeing anything that might upset your mental apple cart. If you feel strongly enough that the site name should be changed, perhaps you should make Simon a sizeable cash offer to purchase the domain name from him, and then make of the site what you will. Until you do that (assuming Simon would even sell), you have no right to tell others what to do with a domain name that they own and you do not. And just for clarification, the Watchtower does not own the domain name, either. So they have no more authority than you to change things.

    James,

I think the WTS should look into this

They have and they do. They came, they saw, they conked-out.

Seriously James, try to have your own views on things. Have you ever wondered why the WTS punishes grown people who research information that they do not approve of. This site is full of ex-elders, pioneers, Missionaries and Bethelites who once sat beside you in the Kingdom Hall. Do you really believe that they are all twisted and corrupt in their thinking?

Do you think that the WTS may actually have an agenda here? If not, write to Brooklyn, or your local Branch and ask them why they disfellowship people who have discovered what they already secretly know regarding such issues as the 1914 doctrine and its inability to be evidenced scriptually?

They do not try to answer 'apostate' arguments, they feel that by silencing them these issues will disappear. James, they wil not disappear.

Kindest regards and welcome to the Board - HS
