If after you die you find yourself in front a God ready to judge you. What will you say in your defense for not believing?

I would suggest that a God who condones murder and genocide isnt worthy of my worship...

this is my motto, with thanks to Epicurus

Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?

    Then he is not omnipotent.

Is he able to prevent evil, but not willing?

    then he is malevolent.

Is he neither willing nor able?

    Then why call him God

Judgment is inevitible. God MUST do it. Judgment is God's answer to the problem of evil that philosophers sometimes argue about. God could either prevent evil, or he could judge it. Clearly, HE HAS CHOSEN TO JUDGE IT.

If he chose to do NOTHING about it, then he himself would be the default cause of evil, which is impossible since he is good. So he must judge all. It is not a task he looks forward to I assure you. He offered his own Son as a scapegoat for those that would take the offer. It was a rancid enough death to atone for the vilest among us. He desires NONE to sit before him and receive the penalty of sin. His main enemy is the devil, not us.

When he has intervened in this world and executed judgments, it is not murder or genocide since sin requires a death penalty. Atempting to judge God does not make the reality of judgment after a person dies any less real.

The man in the video is deluding himself with his own perceived goodness. Has he ever lied? What does that make him? Has he ever stolen anything? What do you call someone who has done that? Jesus said just looking at a woman with lust is committing adultery in the heart. In Jesus' economy he equates hate with murder. Ever done that?

Judges do not sit and judge all the lawful and good things a person has done. Courts don't work that way. Yet, most people who don't accept Jesus offer think that it will work that way, even though our own courts dont work that way at all.

So, Perry, following your argument, how do you justify the murder, genocide and general smiting in the OT?

How can you be sure that your personal God exists, and none of the other thousands do?

I think all of these stories confirm is a deep felt human need, but that doesnt constitute evidence of any divine existance.

If God wanted us all to believe, then he would have either made us believe or made it possible for us to believe. He has not done that.

If he's real, and he's worthy of our worship, then he'll say, "Good job making the most of the gift of life I gave you. You were a good person, improved to your community, and enjoyed my gift. You figured out that's what life's all about, and you did it."

    Perry check out this quote:

"As humans, we are incredibly closed-minded and arrogant. We actually believe that what we think is the truth is true, and that what someone else believes is just their opinion. This arrogance and foolishness sticks us with our beliefs, blinding us to any other possibilities -- possibilities that may propel us toward success."
    Richard Brooke

You disagree with the video because your life and reasoning have taken a different journey. But like dude said IF god exist to judge us as you claim he cannot judge those of us who see flaws in the so called evidence or proof of his existance, the same as he would judge one who believes.

Think about it if you claim to believe the bible as the written word of god than you must be judged by that complete word! So god can inquire of you why did you not sacrifice the first of your flock? why did you not sell all your belongings and follow me in a nomadic fashion? why did you not prophesize about me based on some poorly translated scrolls?

    Perry,

Judgment is not inevitable. We are too used to certain notions. If one reads the Bible, as a collection of books written for various purposes, the timeline can change. OT "judgment" is very harsh. I don't know if God is real. What is clear is that Jehovah is bad news. I did not know that God inserted a civil procedure code in the Bible.
