I know these updates are often minor, so there is no need to respond to every one. I am just posting for certain people that are keeping track of this stuff.
Last night I had to work late, but when I got home my wife and kids had gone to the meeting. My wife had not said anything about going to the meeting when I called a couple of hours earlier. I thought that was strange.
No worries though. She got home and told me some interesting things that happened at the meeting. One was that the guy conducting the oral review said the only website that JWs should be using for bible research online is www.watchtower.org.
I asked, "Was he reading from a letter or was he just stating his opinion?"
She said, "He was stating his opinion as usual. He added it on to an answer to a question that was asked in the Oral Review."
I said, "Yeah, even though it was his opinion I imagine the Society would prefer it if everyone followed that guideline."
Later on last night she mentioned our car situation. I still have a new little commuter car from my job that was 50 miles away last year. She has a new higher-end minivan. She suggested that instead of getting rid of the commuter car before our move, that we instead get rid of the mini-van.
Why?
She said, "The only reason I wanted a mini-van originally was for field service. That was the ONLY reason."
She then let that statement trail off and there was a moment of semi-tense-but-not-really silence. The implications of what she just said didn't need to be elaborated on.
Her suggestion was that we sell the van and get a 4-door pickup truck when we get to North Carolina.
Sounds like field service is out for North Carolina!
She has almost finished the book "Toxic Faith".
Now I just have to work on my plan to intercept our publisher record cards so we won't get any calls from the local congregation.
