For your enjoyment (and for my "spiritual nourishment") I am going to write down the absurdities of the pioneer book and comments by the instructors thus far:

1.)My favorite thing so far is how we learned how to dissect brothers' actions in order to discern if they're spiritual or not. My favorite explanation about unspiritual prayers is that there will be oftentimes stuttering as if they don't know what to say and their prayers will be general instead of specific. They should ask for the FDS as to show their submissiveness and thus understanding of God's Kingdom's structure. We literally had our DO giving us examples and asking us to say "fleshly" or "spiritual" in response.

2.) He talked about you guys again today. :D He said that apostates are like compasses surrounded by lead; they point in all directions but are never right. They are hypocrites and are not guided by the TRUE magnetic force, the FDS, but by human thoughts.

3.)Best advice of the day:Young people should ask their parents to accompany them when navigating the Internet, and spouses should utilize the Internet together, as to ensure we do not succumb to the dangers of pornography and apostate sites like this one. I was chuckling.

4.) New thing I learned today: it is highly inappropriate to start kissing or even HOLDING HANDS when you first start dating someone because time after time that is wear fornication has started in many cases.

5.) Wow, I think this must be called "anti-Apostate" school or maybe I'm just thinking way too much about you guys in class. We have learned that apostates have their own opinion and oftentimes are the reason why there is so much division in the congregation.

6.) True Christians don't use drugs like opium and marijuana because they can get you in contact with DEMONS!!!!!!!!!

7.) Always leave a question pending as to increase the excitement and uneasiness of householders; this way they will be awaiting your next visit.

8.) Always smile and ask about your studies' personal lives and make the study fun so they won't get away and think you care about them genuinely. Antithesis to that: drop them like a hot potato if they don't progress.

9.) After talking about how women need to be submissive and how they are the weaker one, it goes on to talk about how women do more in the preaching work and are to be commended and they are not LESS EQUAL, they are simply put under the guidance of men by God's order of things. They reiterated that women are NOT less equal; if they were, Jah wouldn't have included them in his group of 144,000 anointed. 10.) EVEN IF ELDERS ARE WRONG we must not take things into our hands as that would be an Adam and Eve-type attitude nor must we object but remain faithful to Jehovah's organization because things WILL get resolved eventually. He gave us the example that in cases where elders were hiding very immoral sins or acted inappropriately in "only" a matter of "some" time were they removed, thus PROVING that Jehovah truly guides his organization.

11.) Then we learned about the Pentecost and how Paul became a GB member and that's why the FDS do not do all of the guiding for the society but the GB as its representative body. He said apostates attack that organizational method but it's because, and I quote, "they have been blinded by Satan to not see scriptures as we see them but instead follow thoughts of man". 12.) To explain how it is that God radically changed from this crazy, overbearing despot to this loving, forgiving Father, the explanation is that while laws can change, principles cannot.

HOWEVER we SHOULD NOT waste our time with those who show little interest, but instead to those ALREADY CLOSE to being able to pioneer, or those who we think might be able to.

Sorry about the formatting and the randomness in the bold, I had copied and pasted that to add that into the 10 whacko comments but it won't let me edit it.

I cannot believe they say that drivel.

I also cannot believe you sat through that crap without having to wretch.

Just another way of making you feel like you're not doing enough.

Wacko indeed! I don't even know what to say. They seem to be operating on a lot of fear and running scared; most of these points are very reactive, rather than proactive. Interesting.

nbernat, I have just now looked at a bit of your past posting history. I wasn't aware of your situation before now, and wow I really feel for you. I'm sorry you have to go through this, but you seem to be holding it together pretty well. Thanks for sharing all of this here. It's very "enlightening" to read about these experiences, and it probably helps you hold onto your sanity and sense of humor to be able to share them too. Hang in there :-)

I remember standing in the lobby after taking a restroom break during the pioneer school. We had just had the section on how Jesus was not the mediator for the great crowd. That was just too much, I nearly left. I seriously considered it. I knew that after that it probably wouldn't be long.

Congrats on keeping it together through all of this and thanks for sharing the humor of the experience.

Always leave a question pending as to increase the excitement and uneasiness of householders

"So....I'd like to come back next week and talk about how to get to paradise....say, do you happen to know where I could buy large quantities of ammonium nitrate?"

    Idiots.

The two lessons above are related to your field circus.

Otherwise, the list contains virtually nothing of how to effectively help people
to obtain "the truth" or the path to eternal life. It's a lesson on JWism.

Maybe there was more field circus stuff, but you focused on the ridiculous stuff
instead. They sure must have wasted a bunch of time on this JWism stuff.

I would hate to waste my time at the school if I knew it was a sham.
    Best wishes to ya.

What was Jesus' response as to how to pray? I don't remember any instructions on judging people's prayers except on this occasion which resembles this jw counsel.

    (Luke 11:1-4) 11

Now on the occasion of his being in a certain place praying, when he stopped, a certain one of his disciples said to him: "Lord, teach us how to pray, just as John also taught his disciples." 2 Then he said to them: "Whenever YOU pray, say, ‘Father, let your name be sanctified. Let your kingdom come. 3 Give us our bread for the day according to the day’s requirement. 4 And forgive us our sins, for we ourselves also forgive everyone that is in debt to us; and do not bring us into temptation.’"

(Luke 18:9-14) 9 But he spoke this illustration also to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous and who considered the rest as nothing:10 "Two men went up into the temple to pray, the one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood and began to pray these things to himself, ‘O God, I thank you I am not as the rest of men, extortioners, unrighteous, adulterers, or even as this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week, I give the tenth of all things I acquire.’ 13 But the tax collector standing at a distance was not willing even to raise his eyes heavenward, but kept beating his breast, saying, ‘O God, be gracious to me a sinner.’ 14 I tell YOU, This man went down to his home proved more righteous than that man; because everyone that exalts himself will be humiliated, but he that humbles himself will be exalted."
