  Learn a lesson from the Battle of Jericho:

  It can be done with NOISE.

  It will take mass unity, committment, relentlessness.

  Results: Exposure. Vunerability. Laid Bare. Shame.

  Any ideas?

  Eclipse wrote a wonderful piece about "why we're at your door". Wonder if it would be possible for an organized group to take out a small newspaper ad and print her short essay? Every newspaper has a "religious" section on Fri. What about anon interviews? Would any reporter be game to write the "truth about the truth" through personal interviews of devastated lives?

  Does anyone know how much media control the bOrg has? Does it have any holdings in media operations? Why was the NGO info silenced in this country?

  What are your ideas about giving the bOrg a taste of its own medicine?

  My goal has never been to "bring down the borg"--I have only ever been concerned about preventing innocents from getting ensnared. I set out to prevent more people from joining than I ever encouraged to join via field service, and I did that to the power of ten. Now I'm done.
  
  Though your goal is different, here are some thoughts.
  
  The NGO thing has not been silenced in the mainstream media; they just don't care. It is normal for a religion to register as an NGO and it simply does not make for a good news story. The media's job is to get people to read/watch/listen and people will turn the channel while yawning if they do stories about the NGO thing. The fact that it is scandalous to a bunch of religious extremists isn't that interesting to the general public. IMO
  
  Anyone can make a difference. I was able to convince the Holocaust Museum to add "the rest of the wt story" to their library, though they had previously said no to others making the same request. Sometimes it takes nagging and several people requesting to make a dent. The wt materials are their most-requested items; this means everyone who inquires about this topic will see the wt's letter to Hitler and Penton's book about it.

  Anyone can do the following, and you do not have to be an organized group:
  
  *write letters to the editor (ask for anonymity if you want)--make sure they are short, stick to ONE topic and tell a compelling personal story
  
  *call your local media and ask them to interview you
  
  *take out ads in your newspaper/radio/tv--for optimum impact, coincide with tract campaigns and conventions
  
  *put flyers and counter-cult materials in your community (my area has bulletin boards in grocery stores, etc.)
  
  *ask your college, school, and public libraries not to keep wt books on their shelves
  
  *donate counter-cult books to the libraries
  
  *post FACTS about the wts all over the Internet, including quotes and literature citations without spiteful commentary (to improve credibility)
  
  *write to your college/Wal-Mart/airport/etc. to complain when you see witnessing on their properties--make a specific statement with wt quotes that reveals their sinister nature (good ones are in the brochure on my old web site--Are JWs Rational?)

  Oh, and print off the AJWRB brochures (linked on my web site) and mail them anonymously to every anesthesiologist, gynecologist, hematologist, and neonatologist in your community.
  
  Then print off Silent Lambs brochures and mail them to the child abuse agencies in your community.
  
  If you see jws in your neighborhood, write up a flyer about "No Trespassing" and how to become a "Do Not Call" and give them to your neighbors (info also on my old site).
  
  These are ways you can make an actual difference in your own community.

  excellent info, thank you. Hope many others will see this and take action.

  I can see where a lot of this info might target those who are not JW's.

  But how can you reach those who are within the grips of the org to help them break free and see what has happened to them? What would motivate them or take them by surprise?

  I think "taking down the borg--shame--etc." (revenge) and "helping jws break free" (wanting to help others) are 2 very different goals and one would use extremely different tactics in reaching the chosen goal.
  
  Shaming the org just encourages jws to strengthen their grip on it, you know, Satan, persecution, only God's org would be this persecuted, all of that.
  
  First it is necessary for an activist to clearly define her goal, then choose tactics which are most likely to reach that goal.
  
  Gently weakening the org's credibility, IMO, is a way to very indirectly take away the benefit of being a jw, and maybe will discourage them from continuing to be a member. Doing that by the measures I outlined, on a local level, can be effective.

  I did not mean it as a revenge tactic. I was thinking as to disintegrate from within by finding a way to reach the JW's on the inside. To find a way to reach them.

  My idea is to produce a documentary style film like Morgan Spurlock did with the anti McDonald "Supersize me" back in 2004. It can't have been too expensive to produce whoever appeared in that film played himself. No need for expensive actors or expensive filming equipment.
  
  A good story about the dark side of the WTS nicely written could have a great impact.

  Difficult task indeed. Maybe finding local kingdom halls where known pedophiles congregate and walk in, sit down next to them with a large printed t shirt proclaiming, Pedophiles Welcome Here!, might make some JW's stop and think. MIGHT being the key word there.
