The title to this post sounds impressive, but I am not going to do to much here that is too technical, except to draw attention to the general scope of JW Justice, and the shear battlefield of religious victims. I will evaluate just the USA statistics. Many of my numbers are estimates, but I have reason to believe that they are generally representative of reality.
There are about 1,000,000 JWs in the USA, in about 7,000 congregations. Based on my experiences over the years there is generally an average of about 5 Elders per congregation, or about 35,000 Elders nationwide. I found that about 30% to 40% of the publishers have some kind of JC file on them, dealing with various sins, mostly of a sexual nature.
The Watch Tower Society about 15 or 20 years ago stated that over 40,000 were DF'd each year, with the vast majority of sins being of a sexual nature. The organization today is about 50% larger, so assuming that the DF rate is about the same, then about 60,000 are DF'd each year today, worldwide. Since the USA is about 1/6th of the JWs worldwide, then perhaps about 10,000 are DF'd in this country each year. [The USA may have a higher DF rate given that we are culturally more open about sex than say other cultures where there are still more social controls.]
Again, I experienced 30% to 40% of the congregation having some level of JC action, some Public Reproof, some Private Reproof, and some DA'd and DF'd, and this is spread across a period of time. To be conservative, however, I will use an average of 25% across the nation to account for the fact that I may have served in congregations with more problems:
1,000,000 JWs x 25% = 250,000 JWs receiving some kind of JC action.
10,000 DF'd leaves 240,000 that are reproved in some way or DA'd but not DF'd.
7,000 congregations means that each congregation averages about 34 JWs having some kind of JC file on them. About 1 or 2 are DF'd of that number each year. In my experience, we typically had 2 to 4 DF'd each year. That leave about 30 people each year that 5 Elders deal with on some kind of JC action. As just one Elder, I have provided 15 JC experiences of DFings alone. I have many more JC experiences to post on this forum.
Of those, I have cited a few, I think 3 experiences involving child molesters. I have more child molesters to talk about that have faced JC action. Again, I am just one who served as an Elder.
Now, go back to the top and recall that there may be as many as 35,000 Elders in the USA. How many injustices could there be that are as bad or worse than what I have posted?
Now think about the numbers of child molesters. I think I said that I have posted regarding 3 so far. I am just one who served as an Elder. Can the above number of 3 (though I have more) be multiplied by 35,000? No, because many of these Elders are grouped in 3 members to a JC. So the number should be reduced. Let's say that only half of the congregations in the USA have dealt with a child molester, and I think that is a conservative estimate. 7,000 congregations divided by 2 leaves 3,500 congregations with just one molester. A very conservative number if my experience holds up to a representative sample. Remember, I served in 9 congregations. I have several child molester experiences to post about, including the 3 already mentioned.
If there are 3,500 pedophiles among the USA JW congregations, and they molest just 10 children, then that means about 35,000 JW children are victims of child abuse. This does not include sisters that have been raped by other JW men as adults. There are many in this category.
Recall that some web sites that deal with child molestation issues facing the nation say that the average pedophile will molest about 117 victims in their careers before getting caught. The attorney I worked with in Chicago stated that the number is really closer to 300+.
Let's try this again. 300 victims x 3,500 JW pedophiles yields over 1,000,000 victims, not all will be JW children. so, lets assume that the 117 statistic is a better number. 117 x 3,500 congregations yields over 400,000 victims of JW pedophiles.
Oh but Amazing, you are going crazy with this! Am I? In my next Justice post called, Molesters Under Every Rock I am going to hit all of you very very hard between the eyes on this topic. This hard reality of what you will read will make all my other JC posts pale by comparison. You will want to vomit!
Why do you think the Watch Tower Society published such letters to the UK Branch recently, or to All Bodies of Elders in the USA regarding how to deal with pedophiles, how to hide JC files, cover over other issues, and seek the Society for legal help when confronted by the authorities? Does a big corporation like that get into this kind of tactic for fun? No! It is a MAJOR problem that they, the leaders of the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society and all their subsidiaries have covered over from the eyes of JWs.
It is a very serious abomination with very serious implications for the leaders and the JW middle management of Circuit and District Overseeres and the Elders they all guide, train, educate, qualify, and appoint to positions of responsibility.
Recall now, that if 240,000 in the USA alone have some kind of JC file, and only about 10,000 are DF'd, that means that about 96% of the JWs are not DF'd, but due to some level of repentance, they remain JWs. Now, take the number of pedophiles. Assume that more of them get caught and DF'd as opposed to the average 4% for all other sexual offenses. That means out of 3,500 JW pedophiles, only 700 will likely get caught and DF'd. That leave 2,800 JW pedophiles who were either not caught or who were not DF'd, and are therefore still roaming around, victimizing JW and non-JW children. This is a very real, staggering and sobering thought.
Make NO MISTAKE, the numbers I have suggested above are very real possibilities, and are conservative by any mathematical standard.
