Lately I’ve been feeling really paranoid about the post with worst cong’s I tried deleting mine but can’t. I’m probably stressing over nothing. Maybe my meds need adjusting, I don’t know. I can’t stop thinking I put to much in it and even though this stuff happened long time ago someone will spot it and show it to people who I care about and they will be hurt that I posted dirty laundry on the Net of all places.
I’m feeling like a rotten person but hoping it’s just the meds and maybe I’m blowing it out of proportion.

Is anyone out there being treated for depression?? If so How?
I’ve been seeing a shrink now for two years for depression and panic disorder.
I have improved quite a bit but I’m still waiting to feel as good as the doctors said I would once I agreed to medication. I’ve been taking meds now for 1yr and 6mths
And every time I see one of those stupid commercials on T.V where the women is
Opening the windows and taking in the fresh air like it’s the first time she smelled really fresh air, big smile on her face and ready to take on anything the day holds in store for her. And all thanks to paxil.
I was wondering how many people are there, really, who experience more then a 45-degree turn after taking meds or any other type of treatment. Does anyone know of better treatment for depression? Alternative medicine perhaps?
In case this isn’t obvious enough, I’m on a back slide Again and getting pretty sick of it. I want a new drug!

Can anyone relate to this? Besides Fred Hall and Dickhead?

I am not currently taking meds, but I have before in the past, prozac and celexa. If they are not helping you, please request something different from your doctor. The one medication that they have you on is obviously not working, so ask for something different. Everyone's chemical makeup is different, and that is all long term depression is cause from is a chemical imbalance. When I was on them I felt at times they weren't working either, I think sometimes we want them to make miraculous changes in us and as soon as possible. Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. It helped me to talk to friends or go for a walk. This sounds kind of stupid, but I got a puppy to divert my attention away from my problems. I find myself much happier now when I concentrate my efforts on other things beside my problems. I am not being smart or anything, I hope this helps and I hope you feel better soon!

    Thanks Mollie
I have changed meds now 4 times. 1st it was paxil, that was great for a couple of weeks simply because in needed a rest, but then I got sick of feeling doppy all the time so I switched to Zolof, then Prozac and now i'm on celexa. It has helped a lot for a while but now the doctor is increasing my dose and i'm thinking god when is it gonna end! When my doctor said that I could be on medication for, basicly,Ever, that in itself was enough to send into the pitts.
I know it takes time , i'm just comming to terms with not being embarrased by it and trying to accept it as part of my life now..

dearest friend: I feel your very anguish throw the screen and yes I can indeed relate to depression. I have suffered with bi-polar depression since I was 19 yrs and I am 50 yrs old now. I have been treated with every concievable medication on the market. I even had bio feed back treatments, they did nothing for me. But I have had the best therapists throughout these many years I was in theraphy since I have been 25 yrs old You name the medication I've taken it.It took several years to hit on the perfect mix if you wish and I have never been as happy as I am now. I take the drug EFFEXOR 150mg. TRAZADONE 300mg for sleep due to pain in body the effexor is the anti depressant, and 1.5 mcg of Ativan , anti anxiety drug. These are excellent drugs. The drug EFFEXOR doesn't leave your drowsy or tired. However the Trazadone should only be taken at night as it is stroner and relaxes you, I have fibromyagia and this is a good drug for that, because the pain is less when you get a good sleep and the Ativan is anti anxiety, which many suffer from , Stop and think about how much crap you have had to put up with in your life, We need to think about keeping our mental health in check. If you have been through a trememdous strain because of leaving the org, that in itself can be a great amount of stress. Do you have a good doctor. Perhaps speaking to her/him they can work through it with you. Finding a good doctor and therapist is paramount to getting better.
I have been through so much myself. I left the org after 38 yr and ended a 28 yr marriage all in one day. And that was two yrs ago and I am healing and feeling like life has taken on a whole new meaning. Please feel free to email me any time. Wishing you well. take care.

Don't be embarassed. My mother was embarassed to take anti-depressants and we had to end up checking her into a treatment center for awhile. She is no longer embarassed and takes her medicine everyday. She sometimes wants to stop taking it because she feels so good now, but I won't hear of it. I was once in a treatment center for depression. I realized that there are so many people with depression. Not that it makes your plite any easier, but just know that you are not alone. Sometimes it takes doctors awhile to find out what works best for you.

Terry, Thanks so much for shareing that with me. I feel pretty silly now bellyacheing about what i'm going through. My heart goes out to you.
I think I have a good therapist anyway. I have two. A physc and a therapist who helps me understand my dreams. It sounds kinda wierd maybe but that much of the theropy has been a big help.
Appearently my subConsious has stomped back some of the worst memories and they began surfaceing in dreams.Real creepy until I began to understand them in a better lite.

Logi; I love you but some people do need drugs in order to survive because of chemical imbalance or erratic brain wave patterns. I know if I could do without drugs I would throw them out in a minute.
no hard feeling implied Logi. Cheers and all the best

Mollie, it's amazing how So not alone we are. That has also seemed to me a bit incredible. How can so many people seemingly within the past decade or so be stricken with depression? WoW. It's an epidemic!
