When former Witnesses do this, it kind of freaks me out.

Okay, this is going to step on someones toes, I just know it.

When I stopped going to the meetings, I was talking a person at the time in the 1990's who had been out for a long time. I thought it was interesting when he mentioned that he still went to meetings and worshipped Jehovah, just not with the Watchtower. So I was wondering what he meant, and one weekend while in California with him and a group function for my employer at the time, he invited me to go a meeting. I was in to listening to anything at the time, as I was in my first six months of exit and thought I still needed Christianity. So we go to this place, that kind of looked like a Kingdom Hall and yet it didn't. When we went in, it was like Kingdom Hall flashback and people were in suits and nice, etc. Well they start the meeting and it was basically the same thing, only they actually had woman speaking too. It was creepy, like a meeting in some alternate reality. They were all disfellowshipped or disassociated Witnesses who had basically gotten together and formed the anti-congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. It was about 35 people, and since the city was big, they did have a lot of people to pull from. It creeped my out so much, that I actually had the hardest time coming on to boards like this for the longest time, as I thought they were going to be that creepy Twilight Zone feel too. I don't remember the name of the organization, and the person I knew who invited me, moved down there a few weeks later. What I wonder though, would you attend something like this?

Yeah that is creepy. I know of an ex bro who is trying to start up a religion called `yahweh`s christians` which is just as weird, won`t get me going!

I'd vaguely heard of such groups but have never run across any myself. Not my cuppa at all.

The WTS has so many things wrong with it, how can you merely tweak a couple of points that you don't happen to agree with, call it something else, and carry on as if you've solved everything? Too strange.

I have definitely heard of things like this. http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/78640/1.ashx is informative. No way would I touch anything like that with a 10 foot pole.

I have heard of places like this, although there is nothing like it in this area. There are groups of ex - jws who meet up, usually in a pub, in the UK. Sounds like these people just take it a stage further.

that is really strange. I've never heard of such, and no I wouldn't go either. I now worship Jesus.
