Portland Oregon Aposto-Halloween-Thanksgiving-Beer-Fest Anyone?

Talking with Wanderlustguy, and LowKeyLysmith and a couple others, we're coming up with tentative weekend of November 5-6 for a fest. We were talking Halloween weekend, but that can be a nutso Saturday night. Also, the weekend later, and maybe those attending the Las Vegas International Fest will have "recovered" enough to want to come and enjoy.

LK works at Mcmenamins Edgefield and it is a great place to gather. For those of you out-of-town, or those that don't want to drive drunk or just treat yourselves, it's a nice place to stay, too.

This will be a No-Host event with a specific time and location to gather for dinner and gaiety.

Wanderlustguy is planning on coming out, and Preston and hubby may come up for it.

hmmmmmmmmmmm would we get to wear costumes?? I usually never miss Halloween at home, I love handing out candy to the kiddies, but this does sound intriguing, providing I don't have to skip my normal halloween ritual of dressing in drag (that would be dressing like a girl to you neophytes!)

Being post-halloween (Nov 6) you can have your Halloween and a second one if you wish!

My thoughts if we had it Hallows Eve weekend was to have everyone dress up as Witnesses! But alas, I have only one dress. And I think I just threw out all my old pairs of pantyhose.

My "usual" costume was either witch or vampire. I won best of one year at a private party... funny thing was, only a couple people of the 150 or so that were in attendance knew who I was, the costume was soo good. Witch with rubber add-ons. I'd chase the kids and cackle and threaten to eat them! They actually had fun with it.

Acadian, that would be awesome! You're only about 9 hours drive away, and Grants Pass shouldn't be snowed in yet.

Edgefield has a good range of room rates from $40 per night hostel on up. It's a kewl place.

Hey all, I'm really looking foreward to meeting up with everyone. Edgefield is a great place to gather. We have a massive brewery on site which produces some really excellent beer, we also have vinyards and make our own wine too. There is a distillery on site as well and we make a whiskey, a dutch-style gin, three different kinds of brandy, and a coffee liqeuer, all of which are excellent products. There are seven bars on the property, 4 of which I am in charge of. There is a fine dining restraunt which utilizes fruits, vegetables, and herbs in their delicious menu that are grown here on property as well. Meals range from $15 to $27. If you don't want to spend that much, there is a family-style pub that serves basic pub food like burgers, salads, sandwiches, fish n chips, and fresh-cut fries. These range from $6 to $10. It is a 38 acre property so there is plenty of room to run wild. Oh yeah, we also have a great par 3, 18 hole golf course. $9 for 9 holes, $14 for 18. There are lots of different room packages you can buy which include things like golf, massage, or you can get a romance package too if you want. Make your reservations ASAP though as weekends tend to sell out fairly quickly. As Brenda said, go to mcmenamins.com and click on the Edgefield link for more info.
