I wonder how people are being reached ...?

I've been in the same house for over three years.

This house is in a nice established neighborhood. There are retired folks and families. (Plenty of people home during the day)

During this time I was out of work for almost exactly one year.

During that year I was home pretty much every single morning between the hours of 8 -11 a.m.

My husband and I are grandparents and live with our grown son and his family. When I've not been home (I help watch my 4 grandkids) my daughter in law has been. She is awesome. Ex-Mormon. She knows I would love to have someone stop by. She would like it too. She feels for my mom who has two JW sisters who don't talk to her.

Still, I've never seen them on our street going door to door. Not come home to magazines or tracts under the mat.

ONCE we saw them pull up and park in front of our house. Saw two ladies with their bags get out. My daughter in law and I were both home and we both got happily excited in anticipation of their visit. Turns out it was just a return call to our next door neighbors. Spanish speaking "sisters".

There's a congregation out there seriously not working their territory.

One time I came across a JW table set up in front of a truck stop. Two sisters and a brother. Chatting with each other. Ignoring the table. Ignoring the people walking by. They need to go to Costco and take some lessons from the in-store demo people.

They didn't approach people? Doesn't surprise me. When I went door-to-door sometimes I didn't even knock.

    The Apathy Trolley reigns supreme.

I can't see how this is a proactive proclamaition of the good news.

It isn't even as interesting as the displays the other religions and cults have.

I wonder what the wtachtower(R) thinks they'll achieve????

Yes, there is one a few blocks from me (Halifax), and I've seen pics (well, they were photoshopped to make it look like the JWS were set up in front of a strip bar, so I don't know how legit the photo was) in Dartmouth.

thanks, tal. I haven't seen them yet. I'm in Ontario.

The thinking is bigger advertisement for the WTS. products to capture the attention of passing people.

The WTS thinks why just have one or two magazines when you can display ten books and magazines.

In some ways it pretty much the same concept of a typical news stand showing multiple pieces of

    literature to possibly attract people.

Whenever I see pictures of the trolleys, they only seem to have a lot of copies of one magazine on them. Maybe 2, honestly, it looks pretty boring in any case. NOT like there is a lot of reading choices. Perhaps that is simply the choice of the cart witnesser.

I know they hide the bibles which you would have thought was the crux (no pun intended), of xtian faith.

It really exposes the CULT element of the importance of the GB's word over god's.

I think this is all about numbers, in particular publisher hours.

In my congregation publishers start trolley work at 06:30 each day, targetting rail commuters. It's easy work, turn up with the trolley, get a coffee and settle down for a couple of hours when the next shift take over. A few people will take the odd magazine or book to read on the train and that's it. These 'publishers' are putting in far more hours than they ever would going from door to door. In fact, many of them barely reported before the trolley work!

    6-30??---what--in the morning ???

in fact--why bother "manning" them at all ? they cant cost much--and the litter is free--so--why dont they just turn up--offload cart--fill with mags--and go home. then hours later--return to see if its still there. then count the hours as service.
