I was born in there. At 15 I was baptized. 1982. About 3 months after, I was raped on the way to school. My MS father went to the elders and wanted to know if he could still be a MS! The 3 elder committee met with me and blamed me for it happening, and of course wanting to know details! I did not want to explain things to 3 MEN, so I wad DF'D because they said I was hiding SOMETHING. So at 16, my parents wouldn't talk to me, or anyone else, and I was pregnant. I never went back! I had been told I was ruined and no one would want to marry me. How un-Christian I saw it was! Mean people! Phony Christians! Evil leaders that think one can only get to god through the GB! God went with me when I left! God is not there! God does not leave you when you leave the Kingdom Hall! Plus, after leaving, I got to know Jesus! I am so much happier! My only sadness is that my parents died in there and they never saw their grandkids because the GB said I was bad. I'm a grandma now, and we are still all here and even my kids are good people my parents never knew. -

Finding love as a witness
by RawrSaysTheLion inhi i'm new.. i'm going on 2yrs as a baptized witness although i've just received a reproval on the grounds of living with a wordly man unmarried for 6 months.
long story short it ended messy and i ran straight back to the witnesses because i do love jehovah and i missed my family.
my issues were only with the actual organization.. i desperately want to find someone to share my world with but i feel like i'm too tainted to be loved by anyone worthy in the truth and my morals are to high to love another boy from the world.

Jehovah doesn't leave you when you leave the Kingdom Hall, but your family will. Jehovah's Witnesses families are told to not talk to you if you are disassociated, or disfellowshiped. Their love is conditional on you going to the Kingdom Hall. Jehovah isn't like that! He will love you forever. He is your real Father! -

Why is this year's memorial being held on March 23 (which is the 13th of Adar II on the Jewish Calendar)?
by outsmartthesystem ini thought it had to be done on nisan 14????.
nisan 14 isn't until april 22nd.
does this have anything to do with an intercalary month being added to the jewish calendar this year or something?

The memorial IS at the wrong time this year! Nissan 15 does NOT happen untill the new moon AFTER the spring equinox. The Organization planned it on Purim. I called Headquarters and asked, and they WILL NOT answer the question on the phone. LOTS of people have noticed. Let's see how they explain their way out of THIS!!!! -

Memorial mixed emotions...
by Tornintwo indoes anyone else feel 'pulled back in' at this time of year?.
i still consider myself to a believer, believe in god and jesus christ, on the whole i think he taught tolerance, love, acceptance and i think we can benefit from following his example.
i love ray franzs book in search of christian freedom.

everything was anonymous.

I grew up in the organization and NEVER knew the names of governing body except for the president. Do any JW'S now know the names of them? -

The Modern Exodus: Perception or Reality?
by Hadriel ini'm completely new at this however just in my joining this forum and of course interacting with others i can't help but notice what appears to be a significant exodus from the organization.. for those of you that have long been in this game have you seen this before?
i'm really curious and we should refrain from the sensational, but is what we're seeing different than in years past?.
it sure seems like so so many are waking and leaving.

I left 33 years ago. When I left, you couldn't locate people that left also. Since the Internet tho, it's easier to see how many people have left after I left. Now we can talk to each other, and encourage each other and help others still under its spell. I believe the Internet is just making it easier for us to see it.
