by dgp insource: http://www.diariotextual.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=15022:cordoba-las-victimas-de-sectas-ya-tienen-una-ley-que-las-proteja&catid=58:sociedad&itemid=181.
the english version first (my translation, sorry) and then the spanish version for anyone to check.. i believe that it would be good for someone to contact ms. maria amelia chiofalo and ms. nadia fernandez.
they would truly listen.. the legislature of cordoba, argentina, passed a law that is aimed at creating a program to assist cult victims, for which purpose an interdisciplinary team will be created with doctors, psychologists, attorneys with special knowledge on the issue, for the comprehensive study and approach to assisting victims.. .

The King of the North and the King of the South. What gives?
by dgp inif i understood correctly, one of the ideas advanced as proof of jehovah's witnesses beliefs is that of the kings of the north and the south.
i didn't understand much of it, to a large extent because i think it's nonsense, but something else i did find curious.. the king of the north was the soviet union, and the king of the south were the united states.
i am not sure the soviet union is "north" of the united states in any sense (think of alaska), but, that aside, what kind of theological distress resulted when the king of the north crumbled to pieces?

"Religion...is the Opium of the People" - What did Marx Mean?
by cofty inwhen read in context karl marx was not directly attacking religion when he wrote those famous words.. .
religious distress is at the same time the expression of real distress and the protest against real distress.
religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, just as it is the spirit of a spiritless situation.

Egibi Banking Tablest - of which The Watchtower has never mentioned - why?
by VM44 inthe egibi tablets are contemporary (that is, they were written at the time) documents containing the records of the babylonian egibi bank over the time period of the neo-babylonian kings, 606 - 482 b.c.. these detailed records, the first of which was discovered in 1874, five years before the first issue of the watch tower magazine appeared, should have been of great interest to anyone who wanted to establish the reigns of the babylonian kings.. however, the watchtower has never mentioned the name egibi in any of its publications over the last 130 years!.
the watchtower has completely ignored this source of information!.

The Gentile Times Reconsidered
by Spade indisproving the date 1914 as a significant year in bible prophecy is of great importance to some (e.g.
carl o. jonsson).
along with the meticulous details of bible and secular chronology, broadening one's horizons when assessing exactly what this date represents when compared against the 6000 years of human history likewise has merit.

So I finished reading the Origin of Species last night.....
by Mr. Falcon in...oh my.. i am not trying to start a creation vs. evolution debate, but something else really did stand out in my mind upon reading this "infamous" book.
and that is that the theory of evolution is a very complex and at times, logically interesting theory.
it makes valid points as well as asking fair and legitimate questions of the theory of creation.
