A Jehovah's Witness has admitted sexually abusing a young boy from the age of seven.
by truthseekeriam inhttp://news.stv.tv/scotland/west-central/187628-jehovahs-witness-sexually-abused-seven-year-old-boy/.
a jehovah's witness has admitted sexually abusing a young boy from the age of seven.. thomas gold, 45, abused the child over a period of seven years at an address in clackmannanshire.
the abuse began with a kiss on the boy's mouth, and became more sexual as the youngster got older.. on one occasion there was "unnatural carnal connection" between them.

"He approached elders at his church and told them and they said it was wrong and that if it continued he would have to be disfellowshipped by the church."
This is what they tell him. This child has literally been to hell and back and this is what they tell him. How cruel.
I pray he finds healing and support and love. This makes my heart heavy.

by jookbeard ina predatory jw paedophile micheal porter (uk) who has a 15 year record of abuse including the rape of his own baby but somehow evaded jail now is a member of my old congregation;wimbledon.
words fail me, to think of the years of shunning that these idiots have heaped upon me even by my own family and this piece of shit was seen a this years memorial laughing and joking with the congregation.

Could the judge be a JW as well or be mentally imbalanced. It's obvious to everyone that this man should not be free and will offend again. Even his own sister testifies to this. The judge's record of rulings should be reviewed because this ruling was crazy. There's got to be other questionable rulings in the judges past.

This makes me sad. I just recently got here and on my first post your responses were so enlightening. Do you really have to go? Can't you stay a little longer?

Saddening and Inspiring...
by IronHill inok, so we received our new copy of crisis of conscience (since my previous copy was lent out and never returned) and me and the wifey have been reading it together for the past couple nights.
i have read the book before, and know the shock felt when you read about certain things in the organization.
she admits to having lingering thoughts and feelings of guilt for leaving perhaps the only true religion.

"All I could do was hold her and let her cry, assuring her that this was the scary part of letting go but that things would eventually get better."
This part of your post made me cry. Sweet that you have each other to lean on.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT- CULTURE
by serenitynow! inso as not to hijack another thread i decided that a thread on culture could be useful.
i'd like to provide a safe place for people to talk about cultural norms or abnormals.
you don't want to learn that you've done or said the wrong thing by gettin' a fist in the face, know what i'm saying?.

I've offended people by pure ignorance. Because of that I love to hear about different cultures and I'm hoping to learn a lot of neat things on this thread.
I speak a dialect. Where I'm from calling a female, women or child, gyal (girl in english) is common everday communication. My dialect is close to the Jamaican's dialect. Calling any Jamaican girl or woman by that term is calling her a good for nothing dirty person. Learned that through my wonderful Jamaican friends.
A friend of mine told me that growing often he would hear his father say, "I'm gonna Jew you". It was not until he was an adult that someone brought it to his attention the term he was using was derogatory. He had never given it any thought.
Growing up I learned that it was bad manners to belch. The Amish, however, especially the men, belch really loud at the end of their meal. It shows their wives that the really enjoyed the meal.

This explains a lot. So quickly he makes an argument where there isn't one. I found myself contstantly explaining, "that's not what I meant or that's not what happened". I finally stopped reacting to these encounters. I read a book, Boundaries, learned not to take it personally. When I stopped reacting to the constant accusations and insults he started with a new tactic. He quit speaking to me. That worked very well and honestly it still does.

Oh Maz, my heart goes out to you. I agree with Quandry. Just love on your mom. Your unconditional love may be the thing that helps her. You are at a good place in your life. You're young and almost out of university and you are no longer under the control of the WT. I understand the sudden outbursts of tears. You've suffered a loss, a great loss. You will heal. Forgive your mom, she doesn't understand like you do the mind control she's under.
