I tried to choose Onomatopoeia but it was taken.
Hmmm
there are many reasons why we choose a username.
on this forum, aside from some of the more obvious names associated with our avatars, what does your nickname/username mean or refer to?.
some are first names.

recently i asked:have you experienced god?and many of you responded.the question was not intended to prove that god exists,or,doesn't.rather, what each persons own experience meant for them.. now,i thought that it would be only fair to ask:have you experienced satan?again not to prove that satan exists or dosen't.rather what each persons own experience meant for them.. maybe some have experienced both, god and satan at different times,or can you tell the difference?.

Yes. I must say that it was a somewhat pleasurable experience. The only drawback was that I tended to slip around a bit until I got the hang of it.
But what does Satin have to do with JWs?
Hmmm
i would like to apologize for coming off so hard on you.
i really fell into doing what i have often told others not to do and that is to dog a new person on the net- sometimes one gets carried away esp after one has done the level of research on the org that myself and many many many others have done.
so sometime when a person like yourself comes on the net and makes a comment about the org, that we know is not true - instead of helping you or anyone else to see where we got our info and and more importantly allowing a person to digest this info.
you see my mom was a black woman with 4 kids and no husbands
I guess that's better than a woman with no kids and 4 husbands
Excellent post, as always, JT. It's posts like this and people like you that keep me coming back here (and who can resist a woman who says "incontrovertible")
Hmmm
i dont usually start new threads that have nothing to do with jw stuff--heck i dont post that much at all, anymore--but this story blew me away.

Dammit, if this doesn't show the need for cell towers in our national parks, I don't know what does!
Amen! But don't forget the telephone poles you'll need as a back-up. Then you'll need fast food joints to service the phone repair technicians, and roads to access the fast food, and local adminstrative offices for the phone guys and fast food guys, and you'll need to dig trenches for all the plumbing and gas lines these buildings will need, and gas stations, and check cashing centers for the burger flippers, and a laundromat, and a local police precinct to make sure the demonstrations against the XXX peep joints that are there to attract the truckers don't get out of hand, and lawyers and a bail bondsman for the protesters who do get out of hand, and an office supply store to provide stationary stock so the new churches can print schedules of their services, and garbage services, and a landfill for the mountains they have to level for the roads. And a Cineplex... don't forget the Cineplex. Nothing like getting back to nature. Hmmm

MOAB, Utah - A Colorado climber amputated his own arm Thursday, five days after becoming pinned by a boulder, and he was hiking to safety when he was spotted by searchers, authorities said.
Aron Ralston, 27, of Aspen, was in serious condition late Thursday at a hospital in Grand Junction, Colo.
Ralston was climbing Saturday in Blue John Canyon, adjacent to Canyonlands National Park in far southwestern Utah, when a 200-pound boulder fell on him, pinning his right arm, authorities said.
He ran out of water on Tuesday and on Thursday morning, he decided that his survival required drastic action.
Using his pocketknife, he amputated his arm below the elbow and applied a tourniquet and administered first aid.
He then rigged anchors, fixed a rope and rappelled to the canyon floor.
He hiked downstream and was spotted about 3 p.m. by a Utah Public Safety Helicopter. The search for Ralston had begun the same morning, after authorities were notified he was four days overdue reporting for work.
Ralston was described by authorities as an avid outdoorsman in exceptional physical condition. They said he was known to have climbed 49 of Colorado's major peaks.
This guy would kick Rambo's @$$!

whoda thunk it that eminem is now the artistic equal of katherine hepburn, robert deniro, and walt disney in the eyes of the academy awards.
Eminem is a very talented (albeit angry) young man with an undeniable gift for alliteration. I don't see what an award for best original song has to do with Katherine Hepburn, but...
I saw the behind-the-scenes footage from the 8 Mile DVD this weekend. The 300+ extras for the final act's rap "battle" were getting antsy after three days of shooting, so they held an impromtu battle, with four winners having a chance to appear in the movie as contestents that Rabbit (Eminem) defeats on the way to the final showdown with his arch nemesis. It was going to be a silent montage under the music, so the director told Eminem to just pantomime his parts in order to save his voice.
When he faced the second contestent, the crowd was booing him when they were suppsed to be cheering. So he turned his microphone up and battled the remaining contestents live. The scene didn't make the final cut, but I thought it was as entertaining as the scripted battles.
I didn't see all of the movies up for awards, but Eminem deserved it more than that lousy song U2 wrote for that lousy movie Scorsese directed.

*sigh*
It's so sad to see people stop being ranting, non-thinking proselytizers for one cult only to start being so for another.
LL, you want to share with us where "they" are told that "we" are the enemy? I'm guessing you can't, since the book has at least three correct english spellings and you couldn't fall upon any of them. If you manage to "educate yourself" about that little fact, could you follow it up by quoting all the times the Bible says it's OK for "us" to hate "them"?
Rebuttal statements full of generalities won't help. I'm neither a Republican nor a Democrat; I'm a Cynic.
