To believe or not believe...
by changeling inthat seems to be the question around here lately.. people's panties have been getting into quite a twist over this one.. personally, i don't believe.
but i'd like to put that aside and focus on something else.. i'd like to focus on: now what?.
what can we individually and collectively do to make this planet a better place to live?

If I was Satan.........
by beginnersmind inthe dragons post about wether satan was a hypocrite got me thinking.. .
if according to gen 3:15 and the prophecy thats supposed to mean satan was going to kill jesus (brusing in the heel) and then jesus is going to destroy satan (bruising in the head) that would mean satan would know at an early stage what his life would entail right?.
if i was satan (i'm not by the way) i might have 'looked' at this and other prophecies and decided i'm not going to help fulfill them.

Adam & Eve question...
by tan inmy young daughter asked this question regarding adam & eve:.
if they were perfect, why did they need to eat from the tree of good and bad anyway?.
we eat to nourish our bodies, we eat to replenish, we eat for energy....they were perfect and would not need those things.. from the mouth of babes.... what's your thoughts....

The Operation Illustration
by WTWizard ini can remember a fairly common illustration used in the kingdumb hells to justify jehovah allowing suffering.
it had to do with a child that had a disease that a painful operation was necessary to treat the disease.
it compares us suffering to that child.. here are the holes in that argument.

Prayer a Waste of Time?
by WTWizard inhow often do you hear about prayer at the meeting that, if you should pray that if jehovah wills that he should do something?
to me, this is a total waste of time to pray if that condition applies.
you see, if jehovah willed something, why would he need to wait for you to ask him for it?

PROOF that the GB lurk HERE ???
by AlphaOmega ina while ago, i posted this thread.... http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/12/135699/1.ashx.
in which i said.... this is strange, i read that in 1995 they did away with the "generation" teaching, yet the official watchtower website still says this, over 12 years later !.
thus, all the features of the last days must take place within the lifetime of one generation, the generation of 1914. so some people who were alive in 1914 will still be alive when this system comes to its end.

Flood of Gilgamesh written long before Noahs flood. Look at how simular!!
by Lady Liberty indear friends,.
lately i have been re-researching some things i learned as i was leaving the borg.
for lurkers and newbies, i thought i would share this with you.. apparently long before the flood of noah, was a story told and recorded on 12 clay tablets, of a flood so simular to noahs that it will be shocking to you if you have never read about it.

Gold Mine of Historical WT Documents: Bible Student Library 3
by cabasilas inthe folks over at www.heraldmag.org have outdone themselves!
researchers have used that site for many years to obtain files of older watchtower related documents from russell's day (and also including later bible student materials).
now, they have issued a new dvd with much more material on it.

El vs. YHWH or El into YHWH. for those who've read "The Bible Unearthed"
by kwintestal ini've been thinking about this for quite a while and i'm not exactly sure how the best way of putting it out there, so if it seems like i'm blabbering at points, i more then likely am and i'm sorry.
i'm kind of merging two different thoughts together, historical info i got from the book, "the bible unearthed" and personal research and discussions with others regarding "el".. el obviously played an important part in early hebrew language as it was their word for "god".
but, el was a caananite god, and to them the god of all gods, supreme god father of all things and humankind.
