I have to tell you guys that when I talk to non jw's about jw's (holidays, etc..) they find it very sweet that some of you don't know how to wrap or do holidays and when you finally do they are all "aww, that's so cute! good for them! did they enjoy it?" and so on. It is an odd conversation if you think about it. -

BART EHRMAN answers my question
by TerryWalstrom inas a member on bart ehrman's blog, i am able to ask him direct questions.is jehovah in the bible?.
question:.
how firmly grounded in reality is the claim of jehovahs witnesses that the divine name (jehovah) belongs in the new testament?.

Did any of you go out and buy a KJV just to show the 'doors' that jehovah was in fact in their own Bible?
As a ubm I was so excited when my jw bought a KJV because I thought perhaps he was really reading a different version than the NWT. Wow! he was really and truly studying and comparing! alas, it was only to show the doors.
I don't think he does that anymore because I'm sure someone at some door must have used that KJV to point out a few other things wrong with their NWT, at least I can hope so anyway. yeah, leave me to my fantasies...........

Mormon view of JW.ORG
by konceptual99 indoes anyone have any links to how the mormons (or ex mormons for that matter) view the changes that the wts has made over recent years, especially the growth of jw.org and characters like caleb & sophia?.

do they see similarities?

THEOCRATIC KENOSIS: the Watchtower Organization's ultimate goal for humanity
by TerryWalstrom inever wonder why jehovah's witnesses have almost nothing but words instead of love?.
every wonder why jw's praise their corporate leaders rather than jesus?.
every wonder why faith is only demonstrated by allowing children to die and molesters to escape, or disasters to be welcomed through obstinate demonstrations of loyalty to the org?.

2014 Fully Accomplish Your Ministry-PDF!
by Atlantis in2014 fully accomplish your ministry-pdf!..
this file was not easy to get!
the informant had to carefully wait until each time his regular pioneer wife left the house to get into her service bag.

Rank & file are not allowed to see this book? If not, shouldn't they check it out before making the decision to pioneer?
Thanks to Atlantis and the ubm spy!

Not Seating at the Same Place in All Meetings.
by Tempest in a Teacup ini haven't heard this one in a while but it has been on my mind lately.
maybe it's because i'm noticing that these days people at the kh are going the extra mile to vary their seating places in all meetings.. having skipped meetings for a few weeks, i'm wondering if there has been a talk/article about that recently.
that's one of the most laughable rules they made and i never felt bound by it.

Thank you for the links darksilver but I stand my comment, people do not rent pew space in this century as far as I can tell.
Odd that jw's would even discuss the issue which only brings up the fact that they weren't even around when this was going on (jw's did not begin until late 1800's). Naturally no jw would check it out.

8 million - The Population of Honduras
by bemused ini sometimes look at the magazines on jw.org to see what the wt are saying now.
the latest watchtower is a good old fire and brimstone, armageddon is coming any moment now issue, but it was a short article in the april 2015 awake that caught my eye.
it features the country of honduras and is quite an informative little read (though failing to mention the very high crime rate in that country).

I was just thinking the same thing the other day! well, not about reading anything from their website as I don't like to give them any ranking with Google.
Barbara Anderson posted something and in the article it said that there were about 1 million jw's in the US. Only one million?! really?
So I had to Google the population of Chicago (nearest large city) just to see, the population of Chicago is 2,695,598. All the jw's in the US would fit in Chicago with room to spare!
Warms my heart to see how few there really are in the US.
