Any positive experiences with the JWs?
by greendawn inwe all talk about our negative experiences with the jws and no doubt most were negative but weren't there any positive experiences with some of the few decent jws around?
i recall an old jw who was of the anointed and who was very benign, knowledgable, supportive and opposed to much that the dubs were doing especially the lack of love among the congregations.
also another very good natured dub who would always reward me whenever i gave him a little help with his business.

You would stop criticising the JWs if they do what?
by greendawn inoccasionally we get accused of being too harsh and venomous with the jws and the wts that directs them in all things.
so to give a measure of how justified we feel in criticising them we could ask the question: .
what things do the dubs have to stop doing or believing for you to stop criticising them?

The Governing Body and the Anointed
by greendawn inaccording to jw theory all those taking the memorial emblems are part of the body of christ and therefore should participate in the status and functions of the anointed.
if we are to say that some of these "anointed" are just fruitcakes or spiritually immature, what about all the rest?
why are they so invisible, nowhere heard or seen contributing to these anointed functions?

Problems with pets.
by greendawn indo you ever get trouble with your pets?
i have a dog and i want it to be free to roam in this quiet semi urban area with plenty of fields around but i can't because it will search around, find females and enter into private gardens and yards to have sex with them.
of course the owners may not appreciate this and create a scene or ensnare him and hand him over to animal protection as a stray or perhaps poison him.

The history of the Governing Body
by greendawn inlet's piece together the history of the gb of the jws to better understand its nature.
i start by mentioning that russell started it all by investing a lot of his money to set up the wts therefore inevitably he must have seen it as his own property, if he put in the money he should also have control over it.
then other people became investors by buying shares.

Important distortion in NWT
by greendawn inlast night i came across another instance of a distortion in the nwt translation the verse at 1 corinthians 15: 47 is rendered as: "the first man is out of the earth and made of dust; the second man is out of heaven.
" whereas in the original we have: "the first man is out of the earth and made of dust; the second man is the lord out of heaven.
" they left out the words "the lord" because they obviously refer to jesus and the dubs do not want jesus to be called lord and no dub ever does that.

Saudi Arabians crack down on western party
by greendawn inrecently in saudi arabia the moral police cracked down on a party organised and attended by westerners.
two hundred people were arrested and charged with violations of the law because of 1. drinking alcohol 2. unmarried men and women were freely mixing together 3. men and women were dancing indecently.
finally the 20 party organisers were prosecuted and condemned to receiving lashes and prison time though they can appeal.

Instances of JWs causing serious harm?
by greendawn incan you recall instances where the wts seriously damaged the emotional health or generally the life of other individuals or you?
what i can recall are two young jws at the congo who had strict elder fathers and ended up suffering severe depression due to the many restrictions in their lives.
growing up as a jw in a repressive and unloving environment is not easy.

Went over to rechargable batteries
by greendawn inrecently i realised how advantageous it is to use rechargable batteries.
a pair of duracell batteries for example aa size, capacity 2,500 mah, costs only 3 which is around $5.5, (the corresponding disposable ones cost 1) and can be recharged hundreds of times with a recharger that costs 15 and in fact works with all standard sizes (aaa, aa, c, d, and the square shaped ones).
this not only saves money but if done by many people it is really good for the environment because there will be that much less used batteries to pollute it.

Why did we failed to see the rather obvious signs?
by greendawn inwhen we decided to accept the jws something drew us to them perhaps the belief that they had the truth and they could provide a refuge from the so called armageddon.
or it could be the need to belong somewhere or to associate with (ostensibly) spiritual people as was the case with me.
but why (unlike many other interested persons) did we miss the many rather obvious signs that there was something fundmentally wrong with this organisation so as to save ourselves a lot of trouble in the future when deciding to leave it?
