I just finished Crisis of Conscience...
by Badger inthanks to ray franz for writing it.
parts of the book have been talked about on the board before, but holy $#!+...seeing page upon page of evidence kept my jaw in a constant drop.... a few thoughts.... >franz seems to have little malice for the org, and it shows in the book.. >i looked at it with a very skeptical eye (as i do everything) and tried to see it from the perspective of a witness who sincerely believed.
i was still floored by the callousness of the comments of these people.. > control really does seem to be the watchword for these folks, and they've trained the rank and file well.

Another Fading Hurdle, uh, Hurdled...
by Badger ini just got back late monday with the boy after a week and a half (a few pics and possible rundown may follow, for those with insomnia).
the badger pup and i were getting ready to run some errands today when he chirped up.... "daddy, do you go to meetings?".
a toughie...the look in his eyes was pure curiosity.

Pat Tillman, former NFL All-Pro, KIA in Afghanistan
by Badger init wil be better covered by other sites (cnn and the like) but i just found out that pat tillman, who left a $9 million offer from the st. louis rams after playing for the arizona cardinals, where he was easily their best defensive player, was killed while fighting in afghanistan.
he was 27.. he left the nfl in his prime to enlist in the army and attempt to join the rangers, which he succeed in doing.
his brother kevin, who was a baseball propect for the cleveland indians, also join the unit.
