Read it and see that the pres actually was on the ball and had the machinery turned on and ready to operate. If a dummy like Clinton (Gore or Kerry as well) had been in charge, who knows what would have happened! I am so sick of this, 'hate America, blame Bush' mentality that the libs keep pushing! Everyting is political and blame game. "Let's get Bush any way that we can", and why is this the attitude?
Bush has the backbone to take the war on terror to the enemy in Afghanistan and right to the doorstep(s) of the murderous brute in Iraq, who was paying 'homicide bombers' $25000 per! Yes, Bush has backbone, democracy is starting to free people in the middle east and the libs can't quit howling for his head. Ohhh, I forgot, Bush is a Christian in a mostly Christian country, which is responsible for the freedom of millions while socialism and communism has killed hundreds of millions in the 20th century alone.

And you're a part of the game. Re-read what you wrote.

Bush's popularity has dropped tremendously from this from the assortment of radio stations and plain people that I have talked to. The Administration acted way too late in it's relief and did plenty of horrid things to contribute to deaths. They wouldn't allow the Red Cross to enter New Orleans for bullcrap reasons and the overall attitude that he expressed over the situation is just sucky. This isn't a liberal, conservatism thing, it hasn't been since we knew the hurricane was coming.

I blame both! Can't stand politicions or their agendas. That was the one thing I liked about the Witnesses. I considered their anti-political stance radical.

I have one theory. Say what you will, but it would not have taken Clinton and his administration four days before any solid action was carried out in New Orleans. i guarantee it!!! If for nothing else, Bill is a sax player...he loves jazz and ergo would never allow catastrophe to lead to calamity in the big easy.

and I don't blame the president completely. Afterall, he's just doing the best he can. Plus it wouldn't be fair with such factors as poor communication and lack of planning playing major roles. But combine those things with Bush's lack of instinctual inability to properly deal with matters of critical importance, and you have a recipe for disaster.

Need I take us back to the morning of 9/11 when he sat in that elementary school classroom for seven minutes reading childrens stories and wetting himself before doing a thing? In retrospect that response proves to be a foreshadowing in what amounts to the only reaction one could expect from him in such recent events.

FEMA and other federal and state agencies completed a mock exercise using "Hurricane Pam", modeled to create a disaster that was in alignment with Hurricane Katrina, including storm topped levees, etc.

This exercise was completed in 2004 and resulted in many findings which were to meant to ensure the New Orleans area was well prepared for such an event.

Edited to add link to description and results of this exercise : http://www.fema.gov/news/newsrelease.fema?id=13051

Shining One, you consintently amaze me with your posts. You're a blustering, regurgitating, poster child for the Fox News demographic.

You say you're sick of the blame game..yet in the same paragraph you call Clinton a dummy...do you realize how little sense you make.
You say everything is political like if it's a bad thing, yet that's exactly what democracy is all about.
As far as Bush having a backbone, I think the numbers are pretty obvious that many who were expressing comments such as yours a few years back have come to their senses and retracted.
If Bush (or any politician) had a backbone he would not have flown over New Orleans, he would've waded in it's waters, and brought relief himself.
    You believe in a fool.
