    I understand where you're coming from as I grew up with that one too - and, just last night, seriously, I had a dream that a cow sat on my head!!

    i totally understand... i got the book off ebay cuz i had nightmares about the pic of the little girl falling into a pit at armageddon.. i can distinctly remember being horrified and asking my dad if jehovah really would kill little girls!

    They re-released it in the 70's? I guess that they weren't satisfied with just scaring the JW children during the 60's.

    I honestly have to say I have NO IDEA what that's all about. If I were your couselor I'd ask 'well dear, what does it mean to you?' I'm glad I'm not because that sounds too patronising. Anyway, thanks for the hugs, and stay clear of dairy products for a week.

    I bought a copy of the Paradise book at a used book sale in the mall. I wanted a copy for reference. I recall studying that when I was small but don't recall having any adverse night mares over it. Also I think that was one book that was reedited over the years. Someone else might know but it seems like they took put some objectionable material out of the later issues.

    I remember that book and the picture !!

    When my family left the truth when I was still a child, that book left a huge impression on me.I was terrified. So much so that when I had children, I decided to go back to the only "truth" I knew

    That was 20 years ago, I stopped going about 9 months ago, only after I brought most of my family in and my now adult child, is still in.

    I tried not to talk about armageddon much, cos I was so scared of it. I mostly concentrated on the new system. My daughter told me not so long ago that she is terrified of armageddon, so I didnt do such a good job after all.

    We should be really careful about what literature our small kids have access to eg old mags

    I also found this picture disturbing as a child. I never went to meetings until I was 16/17 years old, but my mum would study this book with us every Friday evening.

    The effect the artists of the tower have is probably greater than we imagine.
