    Gopher:
No. Blindly believing the opposite of everything one was taught is black-and-white thinking.
    NeonMadman:
I think the question as framed begs for a JW-style, all-or-nothing answer. Either you believe it all, or you reject everything. I don't think anybody is 100% wrong about everything.

Well put, Gopher and NeonMadman. When I first read this subject, I thought, "Of course not. That would be silly." I left the organization because I found its belief system to be sufficiently untrue, but that doesn't mean that every last word published was a vicious lie. I prefer to consider what elements of truth there may be in their beliefs and to incorporate these into my own outlook.

One belief of the Witnesses that I agree with is that material things have limited usefulness in procuring happiness in life. My views certainly don't line up exactly with the Witnesses in this matter, as I do believe in getting an education and finding a good career, but I believe that satisfying work is ultimately more important than payscale gradients, and I feel that an early appreciation of this truth came in part from my association with the Witnesses.

From the Official JW website here is their list of core beliefs. Based upon this I reject and renounce EVERYthing they believe.

Also, I'm sure that somewhere along the line some JW said something that I agreed with but I still reject EVERYthing they say or believe because as a brainwashed cultists JWs are incapable of logic and common sense and therefore when they say something true that I may normally agree with ...like "children should respect their parents" what they mean is "if they dont respect their parents they need to be beat with the rod ..if they dont respect their parents they will die at armageddon, if they dont respect their parents they are part of satans wicked world" ect. I may believe that a child should respect his parents but I reject that JW teaching along with all the rest.

I for one don't believe they got the entire story incorrect. Many beliefs I still Hold up as truth."and this good news of the Kingdom shall be preached in all the inhabited earth and THEN the end will come."They appear to me to be the few and far between who continue to execute that biblical example.I just believe their timing is wayyyy off.The Mark of the Beast is well on it's way and its being instituted in the form of a soon to be cashless society, where one can only buy and sell if it is they have the mark of the beast in their hand (ATM Cards)or upon their forehead."I can't quite figure that one out yet. Many more things I believe have yet to happen and many may not transpire within our lifetime, however,as described in Habakkuk2:3...The vision is yet for the appointed time, and it will not tell a lie.EVEN IF IT SHOULD DELAY,keep in expectation of it;for it will without fail come true.IT WILL NOT BE LATE. Unfortunately it would seem that human failing is what has driven the society and it may take more time than we are willing to commit in time until the bugs are worked out of the system.Mind you, I have read the critically acclaimed "Crises of Conscience" and was completely aghast at the history of the organization ,however I'm reminded everyday, how it is when humans with good intent and aflow with ambition can ,if left unchecked, leave in their wake uncalculable distruction due to their selfishness and ignorance. And I've had to learn how to hate the messenger without hating the message.I look for grace everyday of my life as a salve to soothe the hurt of my seperation from what I truly once believed to be Gods' only organization on earth. Time however has allowed me to gather insight into truth from not just my perspective alone and life for however difficult has allowed me to accomplish some great gains in the form of experience.I'm not so always petrified in fear anymore, because God makes it rain down on the righteous as well as the unrighteous alike. Some of those same ones that Christ Jesus said he had come for when he stated while eating with a bunch of malcontents as the Pharisees were denouncing his choice of association and Christ answered back "Those that are strong do not need a physician, but those that are ill do.I came to call not righteous people ,but sinners,"

No. As a JW kid I loved Rutherford's pronouncement,"Organized Religion is a Snare and a Racket"

Now how could I turn my back on that belief?

Rutherford also told those people, "Millions NOW living will NEVER die!".

As I did some Bible studyin' in my post dub years I found that EVERY point of contention the JWs have with "Christendom" is a checkmark in the loss column for the dubs. Yes I renounce all JWisms even Jehovah God, Jehovah of Armies, and especially Jehovah. The name that is, not any happless deities caught up in any said fiasco of fools.

There is a reason that Christian churches teach immortal soul, trinity and hell (eternal concious damnation) its because this is what you get from reading the bible.

to the Woman that was thinking of checking out Seventh Day Adventist: SDA is basically a Mix of JW and Southern Baptist, complete with false prophecies, an abbreviated stint in the lake of fire for heathens and of course the moley ol' trinity.

    I went one step further:

I have actually renounced my association with Jehovahs Witnesses in a Wiccan Ritual. It was great to leave it all behind officially and start my new path.
