Are you thinking of "Morning Mood" or "Morning Song" by Edward Grieg? It is part of the Peer Gynt Suite.

I know that's not the one... just can't remember the title, or who wrote it... I wished I could sing it to you.... Farkel would recognize it, even though I can't sing !

Here is the Peer Gynt Suite --- not the one i am thinking about...

    Celia,

I know that's not the one I was thinking of too... but it's the type of song I'm looking for! We're probably thinking of the same one...oh well. The Peer Gynt whatchamacallit should be good enough.

Don't thank me, thank Mr. Grieg.

Wow, and I was picturing Ian Anderson with his flute playing Aqualung

    Celia,

That was a good guess. There is one section in The William Tell Overture that is very much like Morning Mood. Nice, peaceful, and pastoral. Then all hell breaks loose and the Lone Ranger starts galloping around all over the place!
