People need to be aware that evety time you visit this site someone is making money!

Few sites make money from visits other than the increased potential of someone seeing an ad they are interested in and clicking on it.
The amount a site gets per click depends on the subject niche with Mobile phones, Insurance / Finance etc... being the highest value by a long way, there are some infographics somewhere. Obviously, higher value subjects have more competition for the viewers as a result.
Christians aren't a big ad target AFAIK but the ads cover the hosting costs so, erm, "praise Jesus".
Edited to ad: yeah, the views cost money so hopefully the revenue from ad-clicks offset the cost of providing the free views. One reason the software needs to be efficient enough to not require too many resources as otherwise it becomes unsustainable.

From what I understand the income stream from running a website is a lot like the income stream from any other kind of writing: people who don't do it think you make tons of money, people who do know better.
