The New Pledge of Allegiance.

    An email I received today...

Since the Pledge of Allegiance and The Lord's Prayer are not allowed in most public schools anymore because the word "God" is mentioned....

a kid in Arizona wrote the attached
    NEW
    School
    prayer.

    I liked it....

Now I sit me down in school

Where praying is against the rule

For this great nation under God

Finds mention of Him very odd.

If Scripture now the class recites,

It violates the Bill of Rights.

And anytime my head I bow

    Becomes a Federal matter now.

Our hair can be purple, orange or green,

    That's no offense; it's a freedom scene.

The law is specific, the law is precise.

Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.

For praying in a public hall

Might offend someone with no faith at all.

In silence alone we must meditate,

God's name is prohibited by the state.

We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,

And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks.

They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.

To quote the Good Book makes me liable.

We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,

And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.

It's "inappropriate" to teach right from wrong,

We're taught that such "judgments" do not belong.

We can get our condoms and birth controls,

Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.

But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,

No word of God must reach this crowd.

It's scary here I must confess,

When chaos reigns the school's a mess.

So, Lord, this silent plea I make:

Should I be shot; My soul please take!

    Amen

If you aren't ashamed to do this,

    please pass this on.

    Jesus said,

" If you are ashamed of me,"

I will be ashamed of you before my Father."

(There were pics attached but I removed them.)

I suppose if you a JW, you believe the Pledge of Allegience shouldn't be in schools anyways. Maybe something like this...

I pledge allegience to the Watchtower,
    and ignore all the others,
take my hand, sisters and brothers,
and we'll have all the power.

We'll watch those apostates die in the end,
and do nothing to help those sinners,
For Jehovah God will be here for us,
And we will be the Winners.

    Go ahead, continue it...

    Hi apostate man,
That poem sums up how things are.

    Very insightful kid.

I liked that! In my kids public school, they still say the pledge of allegiance and at the kindergarten graduation, they sang Mine eyes have seen the glory and America America! i guess no one has complained yet.......of course, the K teacher is retiring this year, so who knows how much longer they will sing those songs.

Not only is it grossly misrepresentative, it implies that the lack of audible prayer in school is the cause of the imaginary "chaos reigning". Typical propaganda.

I believe I'd have to get me a god who could make it okay on reading hearts. The one who puts me in front of a gun because nobody prayed out loud is a bit too self-obsessed for me.

LOL. No-one squeals like a Christian.

No wonder the Romans had such fun in the Circus Maximus.

Well COMF, I hate to say it but I don't think it helped anything by removing it from the schools.

Propaganda? No. It's simply saying that EVERYTHING goes when it comes to school, except GOD.

unless, of course, you're into that sort of thing.

I agree, apostate man. Did you hear about the high school student who was suspended because she wore a shirt that said ABORTION IS MURDER? I am not trying to get an abortion debate going, the point is that in her school, kids are wearing marilyn manson shirts and blood and gore and anything else they want, yet she wasnt allowed to wear her shirt.....they did get it fixed , she was allowed to return to school with her shirt. but why did the school administration deny her the right to wear it in the first place when for any other subject students are free to wear what they want?

    Hey 4christ.

I think the reason for that is because it directly applies to other students in school. I think it is bogus to not allow that shirt, but at the same time allow "Freak" shirts, like M. Manson.

At first I thought maybe they removed it beacause it makes a political statement. Then I thought, nah, you could probably wear a shirt that said "F*** the President" or something similiar.

So, like I said, there are pregnant girls in HS and a shirt like that may "force" a birth. Especially if the person wearing the shirt is a popular student.

unless, of course, you're into that sort of thing.
