Splash: Why is there a need for the preaching work if Jesus judges the hearts?

Good point. All we know is that Jesus started this work, and told his disciples to continue it, but they wouldn't be able to finish it.

This raises many other questions. Are JW's preaching method in line with what Jesus expected? Is the work redundant? Should Christians leave this assignment to other methods? Should Christians avoid it?

Maybe the next Pope will have those answers.

Maybe the preaching work was concluded back then when the end came for them as Jesus foretold...

Well, Comotose, some would conclude that maybe this is the application.

However, when Jesus returned, he told his disciples to continue working and making disciples Mtt 28: 19,20.

When he returned in the 1st century, he didn't start judging the nations, yet.

When Jesus returns --- doesn't He separate the sheep from the goats - indicating only he knows anyone's heart condition and that nations who have not heard the "good News" will have a chance to acept or reject? and on that note - there is a rumor that the society is pulling missionaries out of some countries - could that be because they are in danger iof death from those who do not want prostelites in their country?

That is probably spelled wrong, but you get the drift.

Now I now the society says he returned in 1914-1918 but I cant go along with that premise... mainly because He says when he returns, only then will he give his FDS all his belongings and that has not happened yet, according to the Annual Meeting spiel in Oct 2012 and delivered by the holy ones - the GB members!

Will be interesting to see what spin is put on this if someone is thinking..otherwise, they will read the answer in the cited info.

QB - Yes he told his disciples then to do the preaching as little of the known world knew it. But, I am wondering how that fits in with today...

Anyways my main point was that I can no longer believe that billions will die who never had a chance to learn. That is what "the truth" teaches. I am hopeful that hearts will be judged and good people will be okay. Otherwise I could be making a big mistake. I have to believe the loving reflection of God I saw in Jesus over the God Moses spoke of.

Anyways for me it all boils down to be a good person. Leave the world better than you found it. Do good. Be the best you can.

rocket man you asked : why after using cutting edge technology did they revert back to direct contact H2H preaching?

because that is where the money could be collected, by the ladies with the rolling suitcases.

Now, with closed and absent-marked doors the pendulum swings back to technology. so:

wether you were in north Korea, The Gulf states, or India (where there are more cellphones than facilities),

you should have clicked on the ORG button, or you and your kids are goners for good or (so the dream goes)

its your fault, it was there for the taking.

Comatose: I believe the same as you do. I know the Soc doesn't provide that message. I believe that Jehovah, and Jesus are loving and merciful.

I don't reason the way the GB reasons.

I think you are right, and mankinds future will be in a loving, caring, administration.
