Getting back to the point of this thread, it has to be clearly realized that trying to emulate the social moral behavior standards established by the ancient Hebrews is not good idea from the perspective of modernized views of social justest and human rights, humanity has progressed greatly from that time frame of human history.
It is also written in the bible that children who bring great dishonor to their parents should also be killed.,let alone beating them with a rod like you would with a sheep or goat.
There are reasons why in most modernized countries that its illegal to beat children with a stick or hand as it may be.
