Ten years ago, prominent conservatives were loudly making the case for fiscal stimulus to get the economy going; today, they treat such ideas like they're the plague.
True WT. In fact that stimulus was directed ONLY at those making under 75k. Because even the NeoCons know that it's those folks who stimulate the economy, not the top. Unfortunately, (or fortunately if you are only concerned with partisanship) they did it in the form of direct payment. Made for happy people receiving the check, but didn't do as much as it could have to actually stimulate the economy. People used to pay off credit cards etc. Unlike the last stimulus, that had more far reaching effects.

"'anti-energy' we have more wells and rigs going now," Many of our rigs have gone to Brazil since O's illegal moratorium. Drilling has increased on private lands. "we are at record levels of exporting our gasolines" Actually, we are at record levels of exporting deisel. This has nothing to do with any supposed glut. It is because oil companies make more selling it in Europe - even with the cost of shipping. "we have so much natural gas we don't have the storage to hold it all." The big question is "why"? Corporations are sitting on more than $1trillion, but they can't build, drill, dig, or ship anything. "Where the line gets drawn is polluting the environment and the Far Right wants to dismantle the EPA." No, just trim the fat and slap their hands when they over reach. "No to pollution in our Oceans and Rivers and Aquifers." I don't suppose you are familiar with concept of the point of diminishing returns. I doubt you will hold so strongly to your slogans when you are sitting in the dark. You really need to get news from someplace other than Comedy Central and Huff Po.

How about trying that again with coherence in mind? Maybe some reference to facts? A link or two?

Maybe you should try getting your news someplace other than FOX and Friends.

    An interesting tidbit

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- The United States is awash in gasoline. So much so, in fact, that the country is exporting a record amount of it.
The country exported 430,000 more barrels of gasoline a day than it imported in September, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. That is about twice the amount at the start of the year, and experts and industry insiders say the trend is here to stay. http://money.cnn.com/2011/12/05/news/economy/gasoline_export/index.htm

Why sit in the dark when your house can be powered by solar pv like mine ...

Germany is heavily investing in solar pv, about 10 years ahead of us but we can catch up.

Germany is doing awesome things with solar, and they have less sunny days than many.

Drudge does not pass the litmus test that libs use to pick and choose what they will consider. They have all the answers already.

Like kids that won't eat spinach until they have outgrown green peas and mashed carrots. Takes time but some of them never grow.

    News from Drudge:

TALLAHASSEE (USA TODAY) — A lawyer for the former chairman of the Florida Republican Party has alleged that former Gov. Charlie Crist paid two men to leave the state to hide his homosexuality.

The allegations are made in a Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigative report in the case of former state party Chairman Jim Greer, who is facing criminal charges for allegedly paying himself to raise money for the Republican Party of Florida. Greer maintains that Crist approved the deal.

Daily Show is far more interesting.

    And informative:

Another study has concluded that people who only watch Fox News are less informed than all other news consumers.

People who only listened to NPR or watched Sunday morning talk shows or "The Daily Show" did the best in the study.

The Drudge Report is the political equivalent of a tabloid rag. Same readership, too.

    The Huffington Post again?

The Drudge Report is a collection of blogs and articles from many sources, including the Huffington Post.

Tabloid ? The Huff Post recently featured a front page on the contents of the stomach of the guy who ate the face of a homeless man.
