I just saw this on the morning TV news - and did not get to hear enough of it to make sense:

But, they were saying something about a patron sneaking a Taser into the Sunday game and using it on another fan.

They also said that one of the guys (I assumed the victim) was "a devout Jehovah's Witness who does not believe in saluting the flag or standing for the national anthem".

    Anybody know what happened here?

The guy's gotta beard, can't be a JW. When I read the story on another site, someone suggested he might be a JW, but another poster mentioned the beard. Right afterwards, you know how Mr.Hazzard jumps on every story JW related, well he posted something to the effect that this guy being a JW might be accurate. I don't think that's the case though.

All I know is I went to bed sometime before the 4th quarter Jets rally. I thought it was in the bag. Last night was another dissapointment.

The Fox News Channel morning TV show definately said one person (I didn't get which one) was a JW who did not believe in standing for the National Anthem. I would assume they checked it out before making that point on the air.

I kind of assumed that the guy with the taser took offense at the JW person not standing and gave him a jolt.

A big deal was made out of the fact that somebody got in with a Taser after special security measures were in place. The taser owner was charged and bail was set at $25,000.

    "Don't taser me, Dude!"

Leave it to a dumbass JW to put himself in that situation. Just stupid.

Father of popular DJ Charlamane Tha God arrested after taser fight at Jets Game.

(CBS/WCBS/AP) EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - The father of Power 105.1 DJ Charlamagne Tha God was arrested after allegedly using an illegal Taser in a fight with other fans during the Dallas Cowboys-New York Jets game Sunday night, cops say.

Leroy McKelvey of Moncks Corner, S.C., reportedly a diehard Cowboys fan, was charged with three counts of aggravated assault and two weapons counts after the tussle with three other people, including a marine, police say.

The New York Daily News reports that Charlamange Tha God, who also attended the game but did not sit with McKelvey, defended his father's actions, saying, "He got jumped by Jets fans when the Cowboys were leading by two touchdowns, so he was just defending himself. He shouldn't have had a Taser on him. But I really feel he took a risk because he felt threatened."

McKelvey reportedly wore a Cowboys' hat and jersey to the game and has tattoos of Cowboy stars on his shoulder and arm.

However, the Daily News reports that, according to a source with knowledge of the situation, the brawl actually began because McKelvey and his entourage didn't stand during the national anthem. They also allegedly spoke during "Taps" and "Amazing Grace," which caused the Marine to get angry.

"Tha God" said McKelvey is a Jehovah's Witness and doesn't believe in standing for the anthem, the Daily News reports.

Not to mention the lecture he will get from the elders for being at a worldly, violent, sports event. Maybe even a personal mention in the Awake if that GB member who absolutely hates football gets wind of it.

Modern version of the pagan circus maximus!

I actually find this kind of funny. I guess as a Cowboys fan I am being bias. He knew what he was getting into by seating in a section where he was going to be the only Cowboys fan.

I salute the flag and sing the national anthem at games, but giving hell to someone who doesn't just because you're a Marine is just stupid. So I don't feel bad for the taze he got. lol

When I was a Dub I had enough sense to avoid being in my seat when the Anthem was played at SF Giants and Oakland A's games. It was easy to avoid that. Hang around the concourse or go to the john, etc. There is no rule from Brooklyn that says you have to sit down on the ground if you are walking or standing when it starts.
