According to my wife, who is reading some other discussion board, the following changes are happening in the Organization, or will happen, or have happened:
1. No more Book Study meetings. Instead, the Book Study is added to the Theocratic Ministry School meeting.
2. Awake is published only once a month.
3. Two versions of the Watchtower: one for the public, one for the Witnesses themselves.
4. Shortened Sunday meetings -- 1.5 hours instead of 2.0 hours.
5. Shortened hourly requirements for pioneers (this one may not be as new as the others?).
Who knows more about this? Sorry if it's been discussed before -- I didn't see anything in the first couple pages of topics.
And if it's true, why all the changes, anyway?

Some of those changes just happened and others happened some time ago. Check the active topics and go back a few more pages than you did and you'll see a whole bunch of pages on the recent bookstudy change.
There have also been changes to the Generation meaning.

Well, of course truth changes, Ninja. We're used to hearing about the light getting brighter and dimmer and brighter again. But what astonishes me is the possibility that major procedural changes -- particularly changes that reduce meeting requirements -- may come to pass, if they haven't already. Also, the thing about 2 different versions of the Watchtower -- one for the public, and one for the members -- seems like a transparent embrace of the sect's inherent hypocrisy.

5. Shortened hourly requirements for pioneers (this one may not be as new as the others?).The Congregation Book Study has become 25 minutes on the same evening as the Theocratic Ministry School and Serve-Us Meeting. The other meetings have been shortened to accomodate it.
Awake is only published monthly, and might be dropped entirely.
There are not two versions of the Watchtower, technically, but there is one published for the public and the one that includes study articles is supposed to be for JWs only. This will help them in late claims that the study articles contain proprietay information, much like the Pay Attention book, or the Insight books.
The Sunday meeting has been shortened.
Auxiliary Pioneers now have to get at least 50 hours per month, Regular Pioneers have to get 70 hours per month.
No doubt the end is near. The end of funds, the end of new recruits, the end of a failed religious experiment . . .

Change #1 was announced last Sunday at all the congregations, and will take effect in January.
Changes 2, 3 and 4 have all happened within the last year or so. For the Sunday meeting, it's just that the public talk was shortened from 45 to 30 minutes. The WT Study still is 1 hour.
There has been much speculation about the reason for change #1. The letter read last week said things about the Society not wanting to impose a burden , about rising gas prices, and about the opportunity for families to use that old meeting night for family study. On here there was lots of speculation about why this happened. The one that made the most sense to me is that they don't have enough men "reaching out" and so there's a short of book study conductors.
