I was raised as a Witness, baptized as a teenager, and burned a lot of my adult life in it. As time went on, the hypocrisy and the infighting in the organization made being a JW very difficult. I was DF'd in 2000 on accusations mainly from 1 person. The www.freeminds.org website and Ray Franz's book Crisis of Conscience helped me become mentally free after being DF'd. As a JW, I grew up with a general distrust of religion, and have become profoundly nonreligious (atheist, in fact) since leaving the JW's. But really I'm the same person I've always been, except more open-minded now.
