Anyone know of musical references? One of my favorite bands the EELS has a song called "Jehovah's Witness"...here are the lyrics (oh and I am not making this up I swear)

Jehovah's witness leave me alone Jehovah's witness I'm not at home Keep on a-knockin' and ringin' the bells Knockin' your way straight to hell

Jehovah's witness let's not pretend That for one second you are my friend Knock on my door and I'll turn out the light Close the curtains and turn in for the night

Jehovah's witness why must it be Just when I'm feeling good i look out and see You walking up in your very nice suit Like I'm some old lady who'll give up her loot

Jehovah's witness leave me alone Jehovah's witness I'm not at home

I found this one by the River City Rebels:

    RELIGION

Door to door, Selling me your religion
Confronting me like a fucking zombie
black shirt, white tie, brain washed till you die
fake dream, false hopes, religion is just one big lie
    (HEY, HEY, HEY, HEY)
    [Chorus]
Jehovah's Witness knocking on my door
Jehovah's witness gonna save us all
Jehovah's witness knocking on my door
Jehovah's witness aint gonna save shit!

    Stay away, run and hide
    Religion is conformity

Catholic Christian, knocking on my door
Cahtolic Christian, gonna save us all
Catholic Christian, knocking on my door
Catholic Christian, aint gonna save SHIT!

In the Family Guy second season episode "Peter, Peter, Caviar Eater" there is a musical number where the butler's, maids, etc are welcoming the Griffin Family to this summer mansion by singing about how great they will serve them. The song is called "This House is Freakin' Sweet" One line goes: "We'll stop Jehovahs at the Gate" Then it cuts to show a dub offering a pamplete to the Gate security, who then asks him "Sir, may I see that Pamplete?" The dub hands it to him, then the guard slaps the dub in the face with it. Then the dub gives the gaurd a dirty look and rubs his face...

I watched Family Guy before I left the Kingdom of Jehovah, in fact it was one of the main causes of friction between my mother and I last year, as I acquired the entire series up till that point on DVD (I can barely stand to watch any of those old episodes now). In the very first episode of the series, before the cut to the Intro sequence, there was a joke about witnesses. There are many throughout the series. Good shizza.

I couldn't find the CD, but Jimmy Buffet had a song about "Armageddon somethin something knocking at the doors" - it had to do with people always being negative and seeing the bad side of things. It was a direct reference to the JWs. A CD from maybe 10-12 years ago.

Did not duran duran have a song with dub beliefs?

    "Notorious"No-no-Notorious. Notorious. Ah. No-no-Notorious.

    I can't read about it.
Burns the skin from your eyes.
    I'll do fine without it.
    Here's one you don't compromise.
    Lies come hard in disguise.
They need to fight it out.
    Not wild about it.
    Lay your seedy judgements.
Who says they're part of our lives?

    [CHORUS]
    You own the money ;
    You control the witness.
    I'll leave you lonely.
    Don't monkey with my business.
You pay the prophets to justify your reasons.
    I heard your promise,but I don't believe it.

    That's why I've done it again. No-no-Notorious.

Girls will keep the secrets (uh)
So long as boys make a noise.
Fools run rings to break up.
    Something they'll never destroy.
    Grand Notorious slam (bam).
And who really gives a damn for a flaky bandit?
    Don't ask me to bleed about it;
I need this blood to survive.

    [CHORUS]

    That's why I've done it again. No-no-Notorious.

    [CHORUS]

    [CHORUS]

That's why I've done it again. No. No.
    That's why I've done it again. No-no-Notorious.
    That's why I've done it again. No-no-Notorious.
    No-no-Notorious. Yeah.
    That's why I've done it again. No-no-Notorious.
    No-no-Notorious. Yeah.
    That's why I've done it again. No-no-Notorious.
    No-no-Notorious.
