When a man from a platform says, "They will exploit and use counterfeit words" and he is a representative of the WTS, then we know we're in the realm of liars and hypocrits. Look, who has used counterfeit words since Russell? The WTS! Thank God, some of us got that eye salve that the Apostle John recommended in the Apocalypse. Well, we'll be bringing that eye salve to the 2007 International Apostate Convention! Amen, come eye salve! Come dancers! Bring on the party! May Korah and Brooklyn go to hell!

Do Not Follow Unrealities” Definition -- A lack of substance. They may promise great things but deliver very little.

That phrase almost sums up the watchtower - they promise so much, but
    deliver nothing

    Do Not Follow False Teachers

Like the fds? It's difficult to imagine any teaching more false than theirs.

Nestleboy, you deserve a medal for sitting through this crap, I know I couldn't have done it

    Beware technology is not new.

I can remember that TV was called the Devil's eyeball unofficially in the WTS by many members in the 1950's.

In Russell's day, he felt technology was fulfillment of prophecy that the end was near.

Technology badmouthed by the WTS in the past.

    Cable TV

    Videotapes (porn access)

    Video games (or improvement)

    Cellphones (text messaging)

    2 door cars (unofficially)

    Add your own

depending on man's technology not God's kingdom to solve the world's problems is baaaaaaaaaaaaaaad

*** g85 11/22 p. 5 Technology—How It Affects Us ***The picture, however, is not altogether a bright one. "Although the massive infusion of technology into society during the past few decades has brought immense benefits," wrote Colin Norman, a researcher with the Worldwatch Institute, "there is mounting evidence that some technological developments may aggravate, rather than solve, many pressing social and environmental problems."

    *** g76 12/8 p. 29 Watching the World ***/Technology ‘Prison’

    R. F. Rushmer, a professor of bioengineering from the University of Washington, says that now it is "time for a new revolution that will free us from entrapment and enslavement by our most valued possessions." Why? Modern technology is "endangering mankind," and the misuse and abuse of "our favorite creations have degraded the rich promises originally intended," he declared. Technological triumphs, such as television, atomic energy, advanced medical procedures and other processes that were once hailed as solutions to problems, have, instead, he observed, created huge problems now. For example, Rushmer said, automobiles could have had real value, but their "unrestrained numbers, weight, speed and use have resulted in excessive congestion, waste, slaughter and sprawl."

*** tp chap. 2 pp. 16-17 par. 17 Can Men Bring Lasting Peace and Security? ***Can technology come to the rescue? Is that likely, since it created many of the problems? The book EnvironmentalEthics notes: "Technology is a servant of only limited usefulness, and highly unreliable. When it does solve a problem, it often creates two new ones—and their side effects are usually hard to foresee." 19

Beware of the age of technology, technology is wasteful [[ I never got the meaning of that point ]]

It's a way to keep searching souls away from the REAL truth about the "truph"

And like a poster mentioned...if it's that "wasteful"...then why are the fds using technology? It's more of a "Do as I say not as I do". The leaders want technology but technology is hurting them because lies are being uncovered. They can't really say stop using technology cause then they would have to stop as well, so they have to say "beware".

the technology comment was a laugh. Bethel made the decision to embrace technology and in the end it put 1000 bethelites out to pasture.

Do Not Follow False Teachers”[[ this sparked my interest ]]
“False Teachers are like dry wells; they will bring us utter disappointment. Who are these false teacher today? They are not the ones interested in just leaving. Where do they come from? From among the congregation -- Apostates. What do they want? They want to take others with them.” Acts 20:29,30
“How do they operate? They prey on trusting brothers; try to deceive us. They try to twist the Scriptures.” 2 Pet 2:3 “They will exploit and use counterfeit words”
“We avoid them by (1) not letting them into our home (2) not reading their literature (3) turning off the TV if we happen to see them there, and (4) do not examine their websites.” [[ok, I failed on that last one J]] “We love the congregation. The Faithful Slaves is following the congregation -- they provide us with refreshing waters of truth.”

Did the speaker happen to mention any particular websites?

"Our clothing will set us apart from the world."
