The wt also has shareholders. I remember reading years ago that not all the shareholders are jws. I don't remember where I read it, or if it was ever proven one way or another. Does anyone know anything about this?

There's a ton of information on this site if you use the search... search watchtower, watch tower, jehovah's witnesses etc.

It's mind boggling. Wish I knew of a way to find out who the shareholders are. NY doesn't list them for non profits. I think I'll email the PA website and ask if they have that available...it should be public info, I would think.

When a corporation registers with a state, their corporate name must be EXACT ... and any slight changes, SUCH AS ABBREVIATIONS, MISPELLINGS, CAPITALIZATIONS, PERIODS, AND COMMAS ARE IMPORTANT and are made part of that exact corporate name.
Very interesting indeed.
I would ask though, in the light of the above about your spelling of Watchtower Bible & Tract Society.
In the Watchtower magazine it is listed as Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society. Here in the the UK, when accessing the Charity Commission website it is equally important to spell absolutely correctly, Watchtower will not work, it has to be Watch Tower plus and, not &.
