The simple fact is why did it take unti 2005 for a negro to become a member of the G/B ?nuff said!

Probably because they couldn't find a *Negro* that is a witness that looks like Colin Powell.

It's true. Russell said it twice, something about a boy turning white. I didn't know Michael Jackson was that old.

He also said things about not showing the Creation Drama to blacks because they wouldn't appreciate it. They also had to sit in the balcony in Europe. The WT is racist. As recently as 30 years ago, some Southern states still had blacks on one side of the hall and whites on the other. They claimed it didn't make waves and the public left them alone to get their work done. I say they whored themselves. If something is right, you fight for it and die for it. They should have told the cops to stick it. Why all the bragging about integrity in Nazi Germany if they prostitute themselves when it's convenient.

A bunch of liars, hypocrites and fakes.

Most of the congregations I've been in seemed to have no racist element at all. A few individuals had an issue that surfaced occassionally. I've been in congregations with several mixed race couples and no one had a problem with it that I could tell. I have seen some separation when it came to socialising, in at least one congregation it was absolutely the norm for white familes to incldue black families in their gatherings but it was rare for black families to include whites in theirs. I looked into it and found there was a whole separate black social structure that stretched over about half a dozen congregations. I talked to one of the brothers about it and he said it just kind of happened becaus some people felt more comfortable with it. Afterward, I was invited to a couple of these deals and everyone seemed fine with it, I was just one of the bunch. I never did really figure it out.

My friend is 1/4 African American, but blonde with white skin. She married a dark-skinned brother. They were told that they were ineligible for circuit work or missionary service, because of their status as a mixed couple. The excuse given was that it was too hard to place a mixed couple in a circuit (even in the US) or in service safetly. Makes sense, maybe... The KH I was married in pitched a fit because my entire wedding party was black. I think that was just a cultural holdover from the area / era.

Jehovah's Witnesses were well behind the curve in the United States with respect to civil rights(Brown vs Department of Education, 1954). The concern was always "community standards," not Christian principles. Corpus Christi, TX was integrated in 1969. Little Rock, AR had a predominately black congregation that drew from all congregation territories in the city until 1986. Oh, there was a sprinkling of black publishers in all of the Kingdom Halls in Little Rock, but, the nearly all black congregation was tolerated and encouraged.

As for interracial marriage, that was tolerated with the understanding that opportunities for organizational advancement might be limited.

As for congregation responsibility, this was an area where non-whites could excel, giving an impression of even-handedness.

For some reason, while JW's taught that all races were brothers, they never wanted to make an issue of this in the community.

I think that like in all segments of Society there is a certain degree of racism, and this goes both ways. The JWs are great at faking unity but there is a separtion undercurrent present.

In all honesty it seems to me that the bigger split is between the "haves and have not" regarding service privileges.

Any seperation that I've seen exist does so at cultural as well as social lines. Trendy click, older click, trendy black and white click, older black and white click.... Of all the things they get wrong, I never felt the JW to be out of racial harmony.

Racial harmony ? segregation ? Are those two terms compatible ? In America before the 1960`s when segregation was enforced , JW`s complied ,KH`s had segregated people , blacks in their halls , whites in their halls never the two to meet .A white man could not go to a KH with the blacks , and a black man could not walk into a KH full of whites .And jehovahs witnesses whatever colour made sure that never happened. Why ? because it is the law they said. We must pay ceasers thing to ceaser but Gods things to God . Hang on, didn`t they break the law when it suited them to get their way and proclaim they were champions of freedom ? in their going from door to door , witnessing etc.? They broke existing laws.

And their being in subjection to the "superiour authorities " C.T Russell the Govts./authourities of the world....J.F Rutherford Jehovah god and Christ Jesus ,.... N.H Knorr the Govts./authourities of the world . Something that christendom has always understood , never changed .

So much for divine spirit direction from Jehovah God in these last days giving us food at the proper time with increasing new light .
