    Friends,

The Dutch branch of the Society, has send a letter to all congregations in the Netherlands about the DC this summer.

They stated that the series of DC in 2006 has end in a loss of 75.000 euro. Main reason was the rental of the big video screens

above the platform and a shortage of donations.

They read the letter at the meeting last Thursday when I was present at the meeting.

Maybe the WT Society can dip into their BILLION dollar assets and help out a little, instead of trying to guilt everyone into GIVING EVEN MORE!

What a collasal guilt trip this religion is; it's just one thing after another.

Wow. How embarrassing for them. Why did they need video screens? Are they imitating Christendom now?.

Why did they need video screens?

So the elders can watch porn after the sessions are done for the day.

From the Watchtower 15 August 1992 "Have You Counted the Cost?":

    More

    Than Common Sense

The wisest man who ever walked on earth, Jesus Christ, provided the guideline in one of his parables. "Who of you that wants to build a tower does not first sit down and calculate the expense, to see if he has enough to complete it?" Jesus asked. "Otherwise, he might lay its foundation but not be able to finish it, and all the onlookers might start to ridicule him, saying, ‘This man started to build but was not able to finish.’"—Luke 14:28-30.

Everyone would agree that it makes good sense to count the cost before deciding to do anything important. For example, if a person wanted to buy a house, would he rush into signing a contract without even finding out the cost and making sure he has the financial ability to complete the deal? He would be considered foolish indeed if he did such a thing. Yes, it is common sense to count the cost before one begins an undertaking.

Good one, Severus. (BTW, Sev, I really enjoyed your posts. Very sharp and apropos. ...Are you at all related to Blondie?...)

    Anyway...

Why is it that anyone else should be responsible for the expense choices of the DC organizers? It isn't anyone else's fault that they overspent, so why should they put everyone on a guilt trip?? So I'm with the one who commented that a billion-dollar organization should be able to underwrite at least a little bit, if their people have overspent. It's silly that they even sent out such a letter IMO.

Well, how´s that possible if no convention has been held there, yet? The series will last till August. Sure you got the message right? or did those 3 big screens a convention cost 75000 in all, and was it meant to be a reminder of not walking idly by the donations boxes scattered around the assembly area?

To all of you non Dutch readers: The Dutch like those screens because its nicer.

    1) you see the every piece of sweat going down the cheeks. (nerves etc. )

    2) people in the audience stated they feel more connected to the speakerfor they can see the eyes.

For a good days rest, you better not have those at an assembly.

    cheers

    Borgia.

Only her devoted underling, thank you.

I also know many congregration collectively paid for their circuit overseers new digital projection units this year. This so that the CO could show the "fund raising" video of building projects worldwide. Of course the proposal was sprung on the congregation without notice or detail during a service meeting:

"The CO needs a projector, all in favor raise your wooly hooves..."
